The Switch 2 is being framed as the better-performing Nintendo option, with smoother gameplay, better Joy-Cons, and strong docked play on big OLED TVs. The deal also stands out because it can be reserved online at select Micro Center stores, and Best Buy price matching reportedly worked in some cases. The main drawbacks are the in-store pickup restriction, the need to live near a Micro Center, and the lack of a must-have exclusive for some buyers. It feels most compelling for anyone ready to play now and focused on Nintendo exclusives.
The deal can reportedly be price matched through Best Buy, which may help shoppers avoid driving to Micro Center.
The console can reportedly run games more smoothly than Switch 1, with No Man's Sky performing well.
The deal may be practical for nearby shoppers because it supports reserving online instead of relying on in-store luck.
The Joy-Cons reportedly feel better on Switch 2, which can improve comfort for longer play sessions.
Switch 2 value can be limited by Nintendo's game catalog and steep game pricing, which may reduce overall deal appeal.
The deal can be denied when staff treats it as a membership requirement, even if the membership is free.
The shared link reportedly shows a higher price than the advertised amount, which can create confusion about how member pricing applies.
Ordering online reportedly limits the purchase to in-store pickup, which makes the deal impractical for shoppers far from Micro Center.

That's a question only you can answer. Look at the top-rated games in the Switch library and see what interests you (if anything).

Console pricing is also somewhat irrelevant because you are buying the platform for the games you want to play, not the games for the platform you want to own. You need "something" to play the games you like and that something can only be one platform. But purely deciding on which console, i would say S2 is cheap by comparison, they made alot of improvements over S1 for not much of a difference in price.
What will hurt your pocket is the pricing of their games which is pretty steep if you're going for certain new releases. One game could be as high as $80 (kirby, zelda, mario kart etc) 5 of those games which is not much and your library is as valuable as the console itself if not more valuable. so the question to ask yourself is - do you want to play those exclusive titles and are you okay with paying for those games? if so then theres your answer. If not then apply the same logic to other platforms.
Guess I'll stick to Switch 1 games on my chipped OLED for now.
