Console pricing is also somewhat irrelevant because you are buying the platform for the games you want to play, not the games for the platform you want to own. You need "something" to play the games you like and that something can only be one platform. But purely deciding on which console, i would say S2 is cheap by comparison, they made alot of improvements over S1 for not much of a difference in price.
What will hurt your pocket is the pricing of their games which is pretty steep if you're going for certain new releases. One game could be as high as $80 (kirby, zelda, mario kart etc) 5 of those games which is not much and your library is as valuable as the console itself if not more valuable. so the question to ask yourself is - do you want to play those exclusive titles and are you okay with paying for those games? if so then theres your answer. If not then apply the same logic to other platforms.
Guess I'll stick to Switch 1 games on my chipped OLED for now.
