In my experience, saw-back machetes are way less useful than a standard machete with a dull back. Anything you'd try to use that saw for, you could do faster with the edged side, and a saw-back makes it so that you can't grip or hit the top side.

Common problem with Chinese stainless steel machetes made for export. (That's not a racist thing - they make carbon steel tools that are completely serviceable when they aren't commissioned to have a licensed brand slapped on them.)
