Just wanted to note that while this is 'faster' than the UDM Pro SE, it does not have POE.

The title should be "Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Pro Max" so it doesn't get confused with the Pro Max switches.

i have an older model and it's freakin amazing. If you want to provide your home network with a bit more security protection and easy management of all devices, Ubiquiti has done a fantastic job.

Hey mods, if you're going to get rid of many posts, get rid of all of them about the subject you dislike.

Have the UDMSE. Love it. Just wish they'd stop changing up the UI. Still have not been able to figure out how to isolate my VLANs from one another. :-/
Hopefully this will help: https://imgur.com/a/2CYAlN1 . It's how I have been handling that scenario.

Keep in mind that this rule should be at the bottom of your rules list. If you need to allow traffic between VLANs, those rules should be above this one. The Unifi firewall processes rules top down.

Curious what people do when they upgrade > 1 GB internet: In home, office, or large workplace with many others? What's your networking/switch infrastructure, since 5GB isn't that common - did you buy a 5GB switch that your ISP's modem goes into? Etc...
I'd imagine most people getting 5 gigabit home internet are wiring stuff up with a 10 gb connection. That's the most common/available speed of equipment that would allow you to take advantage of that bandwidth.

That's possible - I'd like to find out what's actually happening. I can't imagine an ISP spending a penny more than absolutely required, though, hence my questions.

I work from home. My Fiber company provides a EERO router with 2 10GBIT and 2 2.5 GBIT ports. UDM PRO MAX connects to the EERO and then I have the UDM Pro to 2 24 Port Unifi switches for all the other stuff at home (kids PCs, TVs, NAS, PLEX, security cams, etc.) 10 gbit switches are still a bit steep, so waiting for those to come down. the WIFI on the EERO is wiifi 7 and I can get about 3-4gbit on my Samsung s25 or Samsung s11 tablet.

I have the Dream Machine SE with 5gbps symmetrical fiber. Totally adequate - don't need the Max if you don't want to pony up the extra cash.

I've got one 10G sfp with a RJ45 transceiver and the other is a DAC to my aggregation switch that runs 10G to my servers/core switch, etc.
