Excellent action camera with a host of features. Gives Go Pro a run for your money. I used it last month on a trip to Santorini, Greece and was very pleased with the great footage. Very stable video and long battery time were definitely the pluses for this little cam.

Technically, yes. The same as you could use your phone as a dash cam, but would you? You'd be much better off buying a purposed dash cam (cheaper, too).

IMO this is the best action camera on the market. The Action 5 and 6 were kind of steps backwards IMO. It's frequently available for this price so I wouldn't necessarily say this is much of a deal though.

Practically speaking, no you cannot. There is no loop recording that will overwrite old data, which means you manually have to clear up space. Also, it cannot power on with your car, and the battery is not designed for that kind of extended wear. The only similarities this shares with a dashcam is size and the fact that it can record video.

Yes...no, sometimes you're driving somewhere without a dedicated dash cam and the scene ahead of you is something special and it would be nice to be able to record it. If you could have it mounted & turn it on, without taking your hand off the wheel of course.
