One thing to watch out for- there was a lawsuit about blood oxygen sensing that affected Apple Watches. For an out of warranty repair (aka exchange) on 7, you'll get a 7 back with the oxygen sensor disabled.
Apple worked out an arrangement where the data is shipped to the iphone and processed there to avoid the the lawsuit, but apparently only for 9 and newer?
I am sure I don't have the complete picture here. Just saying you might want to research before sending in your 7.

While a $25 watch repair to replace the battery is certainly cheaper, I'm afraid just thinking about doing it makes me anxious. Appreciate the help, tho. Smilie

Yeah, good point. I kinda like my O2 sensor. In order to get this exchange, I'd need to have Apple Care on the watch and then pay $99? In any event, it sounds like I'd have to wait for the battery health to lower to 79 and who knows how long that will take. Too, I don't think I'd want to spend $99 to get another Apple Watch 7. Just about 3 years ago I snagged the 45mm Cellular Stainless Steel Graphite Milanese Loop and I really like it. My first and only smart watch. I'd probably one day like to get something similar to replace it, maybe even the Ultra, mostly for the longer battery but I don't think I'm going to spend $800 so maybe a refurb or an Ultra 2.

Do not need applecare, not that could you get it at this point anyway Big Grin. It would be an out of warranty battery replacement, which is implemented as an exchange for an Apple refurb.

It is unfortunate that the sport loop is not an option with the series 11 via authorized retailers. The sports loops are more comfortable and look better than the sports bands.
