Because this is only a battery. You need inverter and more parts to make it like an EcoFlow.

Everything runs through this [eco-worthy.com] inverter. It takes up to 500V of solar input and I have 13x410w panels that gets me right up to about 480 or 490V, so I'm at the limit for what I can hook up to this. Peak production I've seen was very briefly ~4.8KW with ~4.4KW being the highest sustained charge rate I have seen so far. The 4S2P battery setup has each bank running to a bus bar and then bus bar to the inverter. It's grid capable as well for those looking to hook into that, but I have no experience with that. I also ditched the included wifi module because it's limited to using a very crappy app that was a huge pain to get set up. Instead I have a Raspberry Pi hooked up via USB running Solar Assistant which was super easy to setup and allows me to monitor the system from anywhere.

Look at the size of the switch and display relative to the size of the battery. There's no way that's 100AH. I've got one that's almost exactly like that, but maybe 1/3 smaller in size. It's labelled capacity is 7AH. The dimensions in the listing are 4 x 4 x 6. Mine is 2.5 x 4 x 6. There's no current battery chemistry that has an energy density that high. They are counting on the fact that, since it's likely shipped from China, you're not going to put up the money to return it (especially since it's a battery and require special handling). They might offer you 50% of your money back, and they still win because that battery is worth about $25.

If you already have one, adding another to increase capacity is not a bad idea. You may want to go to 48v (4 of these in series) to use with many 48v power stations or inverters for off-grid purpose.

4 of these at $1000 total price for 48v 280Ah (13kWh) is damn good price, versus buying one 48v 280Ah, if you have space to store them.

Considering something like this to power my two attic furnaces during power outages. Can anyone recommend an inverter? I would only need about 500w or less.

That's what I did for a while. Slowly got more over time as the price kept dropping. I'm now running 8 of these in a 48V setup with EcoWorthy's 5KW aio inverter and 5.3KW of solar. Works great.

Nice. What charge controller are you using? Assuming your 48V setup is 4S2P what does the connection from solar to batteries look like?

eco worthy is generally shipped from a US distribution facility. They also take returns, and ship new items out without asking for the old unit. They have surprisingly good CS.

I have 4 of these for my Solar Setup. They work great in Parallel and Series. Bluetooth connects the app from like 100 feet away! It's crazy!Never had any problems. Nice batteries! I got them for about $225 shipped a while back.

I would go much higher, depending on whether your furnaces are the new ECM or the older brute force motors, which require a fairly high startup current. Voltworks usually has pretty good prices on their used products, but I would look at your motor specs and see what it's starting current requirements are And maybe multiply that by three or four to select the right sized inverter. A lot of these inverters have kind of a built-in soft start anyway so it wouldn't hurt to get one that you can return, but still I would go high rather than low as you'll find there's other things that you're gonna want power besides your furnace during the winter.

I just measured 0.7A from battery into the inverter. Batteries are fully charged and AC output shut off to isolate any potential battery usage. Sounds about right based on my low effort, occasional power tracking in Solar Assistant. YMMV based on your own setup/configuration though.

Picked up two of these last time. I'm experimenting with micro-solar, and these are pretty much the cheapest per kwh that I've found.

One surprising problem is when the load is far away from the panels/inverter/battery. I might pick up a hybrid/microinverter combo so I can use my normal house wiring.

The battery linked in the previous comment is not an ECO-WORTHY. It's a 200 AH 12V battery for $60 and does not say it's shipped from the US, so I assume it's shipped from China. The form factor is about 1/3 larger than the standard 7AH-10AH battery used in many UPS, so there's just no way.

As to ECO-WORTHY customer service, I bought the 2-axis tracker with 200W panels a little over a year ago. Noticed issues with the panels, but never got a reply from ECO-WORTHY after sending photos of the defects twice. So I guess YMMV with their CS.

I have a new travel trailer that I'm looking to upgrade to lifepo. How can I tell if I need to upgrade the converter as well in order to fully utilize the lifepo battery (ie this one)
