Look at some of the negative reviews…these things look like garbage that will break in a short time.

Broken zippers within the first couple of uses, rips, splits, etc.

I had an old garment storage shelf made out of this similar paper-like material and over time it just started flaking and completely disintegrating.

This looks exactly like a 'get-what-you-pay-for' scenario.

it looks like this may not be best for travel, but is it good to keep suits in good condition in my closet?

I saw the negative reviews but still bought 3x 5 packs in different colors to organize my closet and to cover up some garments that don't get worn much so they don't get dusty. These should work much better than the disposable plastic garment bags from dry cleaners that I've been reusing, and I feel $3 per is good value for my intended purpose. That said I am worried about the zipper which I will be inspecting thoroughly, and I will return these if the zipper doesn't hold up.

L83QNMHE still seems to work on all colors of the 54". Sometimes it can take a couple of tries to apply (and if you're using the Amazon app remember to tap the arrow in the code box).

I disagree. I think those plastic ones you have will likely outlast these flaky paper-mâché style bags.
