I'm a Brita user, however I've heard Brita filter do practically nothing to clean the water. Is it worth the money even at a discount?

As a Brita user, I would think you'd be able to help us determine that.

I bought one , used once and I'm about to throw it away. I even bought the Elite filter but the water ran through it very fast. No difference in taste. I used to use PUR filter and the water ran through it much slower.
Whatever brand you pick, don't buy a pitcher unless you wash it every day. The air and dust can go to its spout easily and cause the algae at the bottom of the pitcher. Buy a dispenser. It is bigger but its lid covers its tank completely.
