Good price for a phone that's kept up to date and has a decent camera.

Have this as a backup phone. $200 thanks to 6a battery fiasco. Solid phone with years of software updates. Enjoy

Considering that T-Mobile has this for $299 with outright purchase, is there any reason to buy this from Amazon for $50 more? Genuinely asking, also wondering if I should wait I till the pixel 10a gets announced this month?

It appears that you need to choose a service plan to get the $299 pricing. Is this correct?

Cheaper every day, Google is famous for dropping all support for their products after they stop selling them leaving their owners hanging.
Haven't sold the 8 Pro in a year and still receiving updates.

This is absolutely false in regards to phones. They get updates for 7 years

Does 9a support backup calling for foreign travel like Iphone? Or it's more on the OS?

I just read that they changed it to 7 years last Sept, that's probably because they lost so many customers for not standing behind their products once they got paid.
You must have only started reading in September. Before then, Google provided updates for 5 years.

There's plenty of reasons to not buy a Google branded phone. Updates are not one of them.

Not 100% sure since I have T-Mobile. Att has it for 215 if you use them. Not sure about any other carrier.
