Not an endorsement but you could do worse for $140. It has 8GB of RAM (enough for Windows 11 to be comfortable), 512GB storage (ample), FHD IPS screen (respectable), and a CPU which at least offers the right order of magnitude of performance you need for today's productivity tasks (similar to 2019 midrange notebook). That's more than you usually get at this price point.

I'd like to add: It looks as if this ram is soldered..
It apparently does have an extra SSD slot, however according to reports it only supports SATA, not nvme
I recently reinherited a Gateway laptop with similar specs that my daughter used for college a couple years ago. It's definitely more capable than I'd expect to get for $150. I don't do any gaming or video editing so I can't comment on it's suitability for high-performance activities.
My only issue with the Gateway laptop I have was really awful camera quality, so I added a $10 usb camera for video conferencing and it is working out great for my needs. Not sure if this model would have the same issue.

There are scads & scads of folks using SD who have nothing good to say about Gateway, including me. My screen fell off, among other problems, after 13-1/2 months, out-of-warranty they reminded me. Caveat emptor at any price.

Gateway garbage from vipoutlet, not even worth $40

I've had great luck with my gateways, great value with decent specs, build quality not the best. Had to return one maybe for a battery or mobo glitch. That's maybe 1/5 I've purchased from vipoutlet, but wasn't too surprised to get a bad one since they are open box/used

Lack of USB charging is a risk. My current gateway laptop suffered a failed barrel port and the replacement is not available. USB charging ports seem to have ribbon connectors whereas this receptacle is soldered to the board.

Yep, I had a friend who had one of these. The mSata died not to long after purchasing. He updated to a 1TB mSata, it worked for a while, but then the hinges were falling apart before a year of use. Fans also frequently ran high.
