Not a dumb question at all. It's a reasonable question. Yes, this will work with pretty much any modern PC that has an available NVMe slot. Primary reason this is branded for PS5 is because NVMe's come in various speeds (and for most "general" PC use, the speed is not as big of a factor). But PS5 REQUIRES higher speed NVMe SSD's, so that is why this one is marketed and branded as being compatible for PS5. Hope that helps.

Thanks OP. I have a PS5 but honestly my personal computer has a pre-covid M2 drive and my OS is giving me random restarts. Might be a driver issue or something but I'd rather have a fresh M2 drive along with a fresh OS.

It does work, I got one for my pc (1tb version) its just the motherboards included heatsink wont be able to fit back on, and you need to find a shorter screw or use some sort of washers to reuse the same screw to hold it in place

heads up. these things come with a built in heat sink that you cannot remove. not a problem for pc usage but many motherboards now have heat sinks in the mobo. you'll have to remove those to use this
