I'm a convert, the last technology connections video convinced me I was wrong in more counts than just solar. This is a tempting deal Wink

Best of luck. If power companies lobbyists keep going the way they are, tech may improve but cost and limitations they put on us will keep going up.

I have a 2020 Kia Niro PHEV, Would this large enough to charge be battery bank during the day then recharge the car overnight?

This looks like a really good deal for someone with enough roof/ground space. I paid 2$/w in 2021 and I thought that was a steal.

I've bought ecoworthy panels in the past and they are lower quality in both durability and output. My panels have never exceeded 70% of their rating. That being said this would still be a good price for half the rated output.

Deffinitly could, but there would never be an ROI.

$2 W for a decent installed grid tied system is a really good deal if everything works like it should, racking can be as much or more than the panels. Was quoted $3.25w and the company seemed kinda shady.
Nice to have batteries, but the inverter and batteries can only be installed off grid, most UL certified equipment for gridtied systems are significantly more.

Before buying, make sure you find out what your local building department will approve on a permit in terms of safety listing/labeling of the equipment.

Oh boy! I'm going to shovel the foot of snow off my roof and get started! 🤣
Seriously though, we need a new roof in 2029 and hoping to get solar panels then so I'm going to keep that $2/w number handy and hope prices go down, and/or better tech, by then. The goal is, power the whole house, be on grid to sell extra power, and a ~24hours of battery back up for an outage so neighbors have a place to charge devices in emergencies.

I recently got a full solar install on my home. It's gonna take maybe 10 years to break even. But in the mean time, it's like ecstacy to watch the power company buy from ME!!! Oh I'm drunk with power I tell you!!!
I do love it, really.

Adding solar panels requires a permit in the USA. (Safety hazard for fire fighters) Ground mounting is not necessary unless you are tapping it to your local grid.

after the federal tax credit is gone, all inflated prices will come down just wait. It should come down at least 30%. It just been a month since the tax credit ended.
This deal might be good for an off grid but on grid / hybrid, the many utility providers require UL 1741 SA / IEEE 1547-2018 etc certified inverters
