This alternative is less powerful and has fewer features, but it looks much cleaner on a desk (6" vs 9.5"):

I'd rather avoid a large power-strip looking thing—and a power button/toggle that gets bumped.

Seems worse in almost every way for the same price. Lower AC wattage rating, lower USB A and C rating, and no surge protector.

Right—as I mentioned, it has fewer features. AC wattage rating seems irrelevant for a desk power strip (small devices, not belt sanders). I offered it as an alternative due to size/clean-desk and no on/off switch to bump. Eg, if you want something smaller, I wanted to give a helpful option.

I understand. I wasn't contradicting your statement. I was emphasizing the differences and the fact it is an inferior product for the same price. They don't really stack up. If it was cheaper, I could see a reasoning for purchasing that one, but its not.
It was meant more to help anyone else that wouldn't see the difference right off the bat.
