I don't buy keys here on Slickdeals. Sure, will activate but it's a 'grey' key. Microsoft doesn't sell their products for $12.
There's always comments or questions about why Slickdeals allows these types of things here, and it's been answered that they simply get a cut.

It's only $4 a license so not a big loss.

I bought keys from them for 2-PC. I only need to use excel desktop a few times a year. When I went to use it a second time, it had already been deactivated. To reactivate it, I had to visit digitalkeysbox to get a new installation ID and then give that ID to Microsoft to activate. It's not worth the hassle IMO.

I have no affiliation with this company but Microsoft can and does sell their products for much cheaper than retail. In fact, how much do you think it costs them to produce these products? Microsoft for years has primarily made their money through their datacenter business. They frequently give away their OS. I wouldn't fret too much over paying wholesale prices instead of retail. The pig is still getting fatter.

So was your comment. In for a loss of my time and $4. 😁
Keep in mind that you might loose more time than you think and more money depending on what payment method you use, don't use your credit card, buy a giftcard instead, it will be easier to just get a $15 giftcard.

This violates a tos or eula or something, but MS makes less and less of their total revenue from these licenses, and most of that comes from oems. They're not going to care a single iota. Used to get office suite for $10 through .mil promotions when I was in. An old friend who works for an MSP used to install Windows with whatever bulk license disc he had from the company, there was no form of counter. I have no idea how many millions of ppl run Windows without paying, the watermark is a minor inconvenience for most. And of course there's the free alternatives. If steam gets their act together in the desktop/set top space MS has bigger problems than $12 office keys. And especially if openai doesn't get their act together.

How is this stealing? And I've gotten these codes many times before. I've never had one of them be deactivated later down the line.
These sites, get these codes through breaches and backend, they don't purchase them from MS, this is why they are able to sell you 3 for $12, if you go to MS store to Buy Office 2024(their only option to purchase, without subscription) its $179.99 for: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, For 1 Windows or 1 Mac.

These codes are illegitimate. MS is not receiving any money from these sales. They are usually purchased with stolen cards or it's a stolen key from an organization sold out the "backdoor".

for the latter, basically a large company will license 1000s of copies of MS office for their employees and a few enterprising IT outsourcers realize they could make a little side hustle out of stealing the keys and selling them to online marketplaces like "digitalkeysbox"
eventually the key will get flagged and your software will stop working. Sometimes the merchant will give you a new key; sometimes they won't.

Bought one here maybe 8 or so years ago? Anyway, didn't use often so never really checked its status. Last week I had to do some Excel work on my own PC and the license was shut off.
In short, yes these will work for now. However, you run the risk of them being shut off eventually.

When in doubt why stuff gets posted, I always check who posted the "deal".

Every time I see a questionable deal, it's always posted by staff and comes with a promo code that I can't find anywhere on the internet.

This deal meets both criteria.

Bought office from this store and they wanted me to download the office using their link in the email. I don't trust it and when I tried to get my money back, they wanted a screenshot showing that the key provided was invalid. Don't waste your money and time.

Quote a reliable source stating how slick deals "simply get a cut" of the sales. Don't worry, we won't hold our breath for this to actually occur.

*And no, revenue generated by clicks isn't the same thing. That would be like claiming SD "gets a cut" of Home Depot Ryobi "hAcKs" which I also find morally questionable.....Wrong channel distribution of OEM keys less so than knowingly committing return fraud.

So typically these are mis-appropriated volume license keys, I assume MS mostly turns a blind eye to this as big companies and OEMs pay to license, and if jimmy and johnny and susie all come into the workplace knowing how to use their not so legit MS office their company continues buying MS Office rather than adopting some cheaper or free option. And that doesn't even touch on the other underlying software and platforms MS is pedaling onto companies. But, as mentioned, depending on where they're getting the keys they may need replaced sooner assuming the seller is around. I typically pay a little more to sellers that are established just because they typically don't get their keys blacklisted.

HD Hack deals aren't return fraud nor are they morally questionable unless you're talking about a no receipt return for full credit. HD packages the "hack" deals the way they do with zero interest in preventing deal splitting returns because it allows them to circumvent manufacturers MAP policies while saying "oops". They could literally end it at any time and year in and year out choose not to. They've removed some of the "ease" of doing it, probably due to complaints by other retailers who can't compete with post "hack" prices.

If you're going to steal, may as well use Massgrave
This. We can debate about it being "stealing" blah blah blah, but massgrave is free and takes 2 minutes. Works like a charm and has for years.

Genuine website. Doubt it will be lifetime. Can be deactivated at any time and you're out the $. Don't do it.
I've been buying and using these keys for years. All the way back to Win 10 and Office 16. Paid everything from 8-12 bucks per license. I've NEVER had one not activate or get turned off. I'm talking at least 10 various keys, probably more. I'm building a system now and have another that can use a copy. The 3rd may or not get used. At this price, I can waste 1. I know I can do it for free and have, but I'm too lazy. Don't let the MS police try to scare you. They work fine.
