I don't buy keys here on Slickdeals. Sure, will activate but it's a 'grey' key. Microsoft doesn't sell their products for $12.
There's always comments or questions about why Slickdeals allows these types of things here, and it's been answered that they simply get a cut.

Because Windows 10 is no longer supported by Microsoft. Mostly because Windows 11 lets them disable products they no longer support, like Teams 2021.

How would I go about getting a $15 giftcard?

So typically these are mis-appropriated volume license keys, I assume MS mostly turns a blind eye to this as big companies and OEMs pay to license, and if jimmy and johnny and susie all come into the workplace knowing how to use their not so legit MS office their company continues buying MS Office rather than adopting some cheaper or free option. And that doesn't even touch on the other underlying software and platforms MS is pedaling onto companies. But, as mentioned, depending on where they're getting the keys they may need replaced sooner assuming the seller is around. I typically pay a little more to sellers that are established just because they typically don't get their keys blacklisted.
Pretty much. I've bought these types of keys for a long time and they've worked just fine for the most part considering the price. I usually like to purchase them off of Groupon since there are a lot of reviews there and some of the stores have been there for years. I've purchased a few Windows 10 Pro keys from ebay for about $1 each maybe a decade ago and they're all still activated. Microsoft Office installs are more finicky, if I ever tried reinstalling or sometimes moving the license to another computer then it would deactivate and I would need to contact the company for a new license key or buy a new one. I activated Office 2024 Pro on both my laptop and desktop 1 and 2 years ago, both still are activated as of today. Both are activated under my Microsoft account as 'Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024'

For the Nervous Nellies out there. DigitalKeysBox has a Trustpilot rating of 4.8 and over 600 reviews. They are legit.

HD Hack deals aren't return fraud nor are they morally questionable unless you're talking about a no receipt return for full credit. HD packages the "hack" deals the way they do with zero interest in preventing deal splitting returns because it allows them to circumvent manufacturers MAP policies while saying "oops". They could literally end it at any time and year in and year out choose not to. They've removed some of the "ease" of doing it, probably due to complaints by other retailers who can't compete with post "hack" prices.
HD Hack deals aren't bordering on return fraud? Every comment thread is full of people whining they had to go the store several times or chat with countless people before they could con someone to process the return incorrectly....in a way that hurt HD and / or Ryobi and only benefited the hAcKeR. Sorry, but if you have to use a crowbar to "unlock" a door or post a tutorial how to do a funky return......you probably weren't supposed to be doing either to begin with.

And you even admit HD even removed the "ease*" of the hacks but you still found a way to get that crowbar into the door frame? How much "ease" do they need to remove before that little angel on your shoulder speaks up?

*LOL....having to use a euphemism should be a red flag even you know something is....at best....questionable.

FWIW, Microsoft could "literally end" these gray market keys "at any time and year in and year out"....but they "choose not to." See how that logic works both ways? One could even project that MS only "removed the ease" to "circumvent" their own "MAP policies." Your logic here too....

To those that may know --- I have Microsoft 365 Copilot installed on my desktop. Do I need to uninstall this as well to avoid installation conflict?

I recently installed full Office on a new laptop and noticed I had both 365 Copilot and normal Copilot running. Did not seem to cause any conflict but I uninstalled 365 as I no longer needed (or wanted to begin with) any part of that Suite.

There's nothing special here, it downloads the MAS script from 2 sources, gitlab or github, and you can audit the source code of either freely. MAS Script is safe, don't be paranoid

These sites, get these codes through breaches and backend, they don't purchase them from MS, this is why they are able to sell you 3 for $12, if you go to MS store to Buy Office 2024(their only option to purchase, without subscription) its $179.99 for: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, For 1 Windows or 1 Mac.
It's possible that someone else stole, but that doesn't make me a thief for getting this.
If I buy something in good faith at the pawn shop and later it comes to light that it was stolen (by someone else) that doesn't make me a thief for having bought it. The only thief is the thief who originally stole it.

Typically, these last about a month before Micro Soft deactivates the key and you are out the money. No great loss as it is only $12. However, now you can't return to an earlier version as those files are gone and you have a loader program on your computer that may give access to your data.
Source for this magical 1 month timeline? I've never had a problem with any of these keys.

And what files are you going to lose access to? At best your computer wouldn't let you open a file associated with Word, Excel, etc until you installed another program which the computer associated with those file types (plenty of free office alternatives). Even if you did have you copy of Office revoked (which isn't common unless you are using hacked programs or stolen keys then tried to update the program online), MS isn't going to nuke every .docx file on your SSD....doesn't work like that.

How is this stealing? And I've gotten these codes many times before. I've never had one of them be deactivated later down the line.
Not ever getting caught doesn't change whether or not they are legit or not.

These are volume license keys, and generally under 'grey market'. Microsoft can invalidate these keys and they use to do that all the time 10-15 years ago. Now they dont really care that much because that process also invalidate legit users that bought the license from dell or whatever.
Just know if you do buy these keys theres a non zero chance these might not work in a few months from now. You paid $12 for it, stop complaining. If you want super legit office that does not break any licensing agreement, then do not buy. Its really that simple, not sure why people always have a hard time trying to figure these grey market keys out.

I buy hack deals all the time, aside from one over zealous returns counter person who claimed you can't return the second item without the first it never requires any special work. The items ring up separately on the receipt with separate pro-rated return values, you can choose to return any item for said return value. You used to be able to do it without taking the time to return the item to the store by ordering the items you didn't want for shipping and then cancelling that portion of the order a few minutes later but they've made that more difficult by forcing you to use only one delivery method, one assumes that was mainly to deter resellers from ordering in bulk and just cancelling the extra items. It literally says on your receipt "return value" for each item and nowhere in the Ts and Cs or on the receipt does it say must return all items for refund. Every time bar that one, I walk in and hand them the item and give them my order number, they push a few buttons, hand me a return receipt and I'm on my way, no sneaking, no fuss.
