I can't speak to this exact lamp in this post, but I have this Foot Switch Lamp: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNBN9...tle_5&th=1
and it works great with a Kasa Smart Plug. Just leave the Foot Switch on (???)

If this had NO foot switch, would have pulled the trigger. As this becomes tiresome to turn on & turn off each time/ each lamp/ everyday. Smart plugs won't turn them on. Hard pass!

Can't speak for this lamp specifically, but I several foot switch lamp that work fine with any smart plug. The key is the mechanical switch stays on (closed) regardless of power state.

I assume smart plug in the on position is the easy option. You could also snip wire on either side of pedal, remove it, and rewire it (given you know how). This seems easy

I was thinking the same thing but this doesn't appear to be a simple toggle foot switch, at least if I'm reading the description right:

[Foot Switch & Memory Function] One-button operation with foot switch control. Short press to turn on/off it; Long press to adjust the brightness, just moves feet away when you think the brightness is appropriate. The corner floor lamp can also memorize the pattern you set up before closed
