The 15 Lb pair would be 30-lbs total.
Thanks for sharing I might pick up a set since it's under $1 a Lb which I've always been told is a good deal

Nice deal. I bought both pair to get the free shipping... I prefer the black color look instead of all the different colors.. Cheaper than buying used where most still trying to sell for $1 per pound.

10 and 15 lbs bumpers are always fragile when they are supporting the bar. At least from what I've seen. They work fine if paired with a 25 lbs+ bumper. And they work fine when used in a rack or on stands where the weight is supported by the bar on J-cups.

But even for slow deadlifts, you need to be very gentle if they aren't paired with other bumpers. Odds are you are going to warp and eventually break them over time. If you want full-size lightweight plates that can take abuse, then you have to spend a LOT for something like HiTech technique plates. I only have a pair because SlickDeals found them for $25 a piece a while back.

A cheaper option for some might be to find a 25 lbs bar. That paired with 25 lbs bumpers would give you 75 lbs, which isn't much more than the 65 lbs you get from a normal 45 lbs bar and fragile 10 lbs bumpers. Or maybe a 25 lbs bar with a pair of 10 lbs bumpers on each side to give you 65 lbs.

Walmart has Signature Fitness Olympic 5ft and 6ft 1 inch width straight barbell for $4.99 each (for both sizes). The bar weight is 16 lbs (for the 6ft model, in the specs); the equivalent 7ft model is $8.99. It has a non-slip knurled grip. To use these 2" bumper plates with this barbell you'd need to add 1" to 2" adapter sleeves on each end of the bar ($12.99 on Amazon, or $8 to $10 on Temu, for one pair). You can also 3d print the 1" to 2" sleeve adapters on Printables.com, as well as 2" bar clamps to go with that. I have the 6ft barbell ($4.99) coming, as well as the sleeve adapters, I don't lift more than 50 lbs (using the 10 lb pair and the 15 pair from this Slickdeal) + the 16 lbs bar weight, so the 1" bar should be fine for me (but we'll see). I think the cheapest 2" barbell that I've seen looking for one lately in 2026 has been around $46 on Amazon, so when factoring in that 6ft 1" width straight bar and the adapter sleeves the price is $17 total, which might be worth it.

Missed your excellent post... sigh.... You posted a good idea to get a lower weight bar and use 25lb bumper plate of this quality...

Received the 10 and 15 lb bumper plates and, as others have posted, they are "greasy" and off-gassing volatile organic chemicals. I did as others have posted. I washed with with Dawn dishwashing soap, followed by washing with Dawn Powerwash Spray, repeated. The greasy feel is much better, but the off-gassing is quite noticeable. As per ChatGPT, I now have them out in the sun to have UV light oxidize the VOC over the next however many days it takes to stop the off-gassing odor of VOC.

Still glad I bought them despite this inconvenience.

Great post! I'm following your lead and just bought the 6foot barbell for my wife who does not like our 7foot 44lb Olympic bar. The bumper plates from this SD will work with the lighter bar as another post suggested. I have spare 2-inch sleeves from our Mikolo F4 Version 2.0 squat rack accessories. The Mikolo F4 Version 2.0 was a SD and we love it. It is like a jungle gym for adults because of the many accessories included.

For those in the Los Angeles are, you can buy extra Mikolo J-hooks, Mikolo spotter arm, $10 and $15 per pair, respectively at a clearance warehouse in El Monte listed on OfferUp website. Cash, no sales tax, buy at warehouse. No deliveries. They also have Mikolo dip bars for $15 per pair, but the F4 Version 2.0 comes with the same dip bars.

I like how you bought items that fit your weight lifting routines...

Got spoiled by those Walmart bumper plate deals from Dec to Jan at about 50–60 cents per pound. I've got a few sitting on my balcony and they still reek, so I dropped the rest at my offsite storage to let them off-gas.

Great insights. Thank you, very much appreciated

These bumper plates re still off-gassing smell after washing multiple times with Dawn and Dawn PowerWash, and leaving out in the sun for over a week. There is no more greasy feel, and the off-gassing is less, but still don't like inhaling VOC off-gasses. I put them back out in the sun here in California where temps are not going to freeze and damage the rubber.
