Maybe it's been as low as $330 for those garage sale "refurbished/used/heavily beat up" ebay listings, but if one reads the description, these are brand new (w/ damaged box) --- complete with full manufacturer's warranty and Applecare eligible.

Also, to the above poster, I didn't see any links to those places where it's "as low as" $330. That's ok, happens to all of us. The other week I sent an email saying "Please see attachment" and whoopsie, totally forgot the attachment!

Now, if you compared the relative value of an entry-level M1 Air to an entry-level M4 Air (which has gone on sale for ~$750-800 over the holiday season, msrp $1000)...I'd argue for the extra ~$400 (double the price), you're getting a machine with a far superior processor, marginally larger screen, and double the ram. Also, it's not going on 6 years old. (But I'm using a 16gb/1tb M1 Air right now, and it's held up splendidly under daily normal use.)

If you have a strict budget or want to get into the apple ecosystem on the cheap, it'd be hard to beat this for a low-risk entry point. It's a delightful, well-made ultrabook that's extremely inexpensive.

Looks like these are $346 on Walmart.com. Same seller.

Mine arrived and it's not looking 'Excellent'. It's showing a purchase date of January 10, 2025 so coverage is expired and under battery health it says 'Service Recommended'. It seems like it was turned on at some point - there's a sticker on the box that says it was inspected - and then the battery drained and sat discharged for 13 months or so.

I literally still use this exact model and it works fine. People on here complain about the ram all the time and I have experienced literally no slowdowns. It's worlds faster than my work laptop which is thicker, has a beefier intel processor, and 16gb of ram.

And yes I open as many tabs as I like, do minor photo editing, all the normal internet/streaming stuff, document stuff, programming projects etc.
The people that criticize this thing don't realize how it feels to use it, because even to this day it feels amazing, yes even with 8gb of ram.

I'm still rocking an Intel Core-M powered Macbook 12" daily and its fine for day to day stuff.

I'm curious as to why someone would buy it on eBay instead of Walmart since Walmart has the same thing for about $40 less

If this is a PC for a kid or a parent or if you know you'll only be doing light web browsing/google docs/media machine this is a good deal.

However if you plan to do even a little bit more, like more tabs, editing, I would suggest for you to look at your local marketplace. I'm in a major US city and macbook air 16gb m1 go around 300-350 with ~87%+ battery life. M1 Pro 16gb are around 450/500. No tax so something worth considering.

Rolling dice with the Walmart listing, returns at the store make it a no brainer if this isn't as described.

Thanks for all the info you guys offered.
I'm really interested in it to surf & watch movies.
Just scared of it being used.....

I also can't tell if it has a re-stocking fee if returned within 30 days.

Just commenting so I can come back to this. I have M1, M2, and M3s all over my house iMacs, MacBooks, Airs and the M1 clamshell design is one of my favorites. Let me tell you, these M1 machines still run like beasts.

Unless I'm mistaken, only items sold and shipped by Walmart can be returned to a store. That being said, VIP Outlet will provide the return shipping label at no cost.
