Just a note: whether diet or regular, all of these SodaStream flavors taste like diet because they use artificial sweeteners to make the flavoring more concentrated. That's fine for people who prefer diet drinks and that also means you need less syrup per serving, storage is more compact, I just think people should know about the flavors going into it (and you might as well buy these diet flavors anyway).

Only if they would use good quality sweeteners but they are using the least expensive one .

Sort of, I frequent used good store and see those all the time. The biggest issue to me is the lack of good flavors to replace store bought soda and if you only buy soda on sale then it's not a great saving. So there's 2 strikes right there. However, I still holding on to mine since I got those on used market and actually got a few full bottle of CO2 from used place to. I can tell they are full by the weight.

Amazon does sell the Coke, Boylans, and other bag-in-box sodas that restaurants and the like put into the fountain machines. They're bulky, and it's A LOT of soda (I recommend only doing one flavor at a time, because it can go bad over time), but you'll have bubbly and as much as you can drink at any time. It's not cheaper unless you don't put cheap CO2 refill options.

How do I find the coke ones? I've tried the sodastream cola and it's not great.

You can swap out their proprietary CO2 tanks for paintball tanks or a hose that connects to a large tank. I use a 20oz paintball tank that I refill at Dick's for $3. Makes the soda stream save a ton of money, even if using expensive syrups. Just lookup soda stream adapter.

I don't think many Dick's stores refill paintball tanks anymore. I have a guy who refills my sodastream tanks for $10 each. Still a little pricey but much cheaper than the actual swaps from Sodastream places. I'd like to get a small tap tank and refill my own from that. But wonder how much I'd actually have to drink to make it cost effective.
I only do seltzers so this deal isn't for me. My favorite is Jamaican ginger extract on Amazon. Around $15 a pint but goes a long way. Just a splash is enough. Or nothing wrong with plain either.

I got a used 20lbs tank. Most restaurant use it. And you can exchange tank at lots of welding places for food grade co2 for $30. That makes co2 cost like nothing. Last multiple years with daily consumption

tanks in NY by law need to be hydro tested every 5 years. yes, they do expire. nobody will refill them until they pass certification. that's an additional cost to bear. some places will send the tank off for recertification, so you need to take that into consideration.

Just make sure your tank is within 5 years when you trade it in.
