It is not a rebate in the traditional sense. You will pay $18.99 and after you submit for the "rebate" they will send you a store credit for $18.00 that you can spend on more stuff.
so it is a "buy X, get store credit of $x.xx free" promotion.

ah well if that's the case the post should definitely be corrected to reflect that, a rebate and "0.99" price would mean actual reimbursement, not store credit. thanks

So the title is misleading and should say "tool + 18 store credit after rebate for $18.99"

Menards has a class action law suit against them because of this deceptive wording.

I miss the days when Home Depot would match the 11% and allowed you submit the rebate online vs mail in for Menards.

How long does it usually take to receive them?

Lots of businesses have deceptive marketing to be honest. You can see a lot of car dealerships that do it all the time. But anyways, I would hope this would push Menards to do rebate digitally. Never had problems with their mailing but it costs a stamp. lol

AI Overview
In December 2025, Menards reached a $4.25 million multi-state settlement with ten states to resolve investigations into deceptive marketing practices regarding its 11% rebate program and allegations of price gouging during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The investigation found that Menards marketed its "11% off everything" program in a way that suggested an immediate discount at the register, while actually providing in-store merchandise credit for future purchases.
Key Terms of the Settlement
As part of the Assurance of Voluntary Compliance, Menards agreed to the following changes to its business practices:
Advertising Changes: Prohibited from advertising the 11% rebate as a "point-of-purchase" discount and must clearly explain that it is a, in-store credit.
Rebate Submission Window: Customers must be allowed at least one year from the date of purchase to submit rebate claims.
Rebate Tracking: The online rebate tracker must be updated within 48 hours of a claim being entered into their system.
Rebates International Disclosure: Must clearly state that "Rebates International," which processes the rebates, is part of the Menards corporate structure.
Price Gouging Prohibition: Prohibited from raising prices on essential items during periods of abnormal economic disruption.
Online Improvements: Investigate and implement secure, efficient, and user-friendly online submission for rebates and online redemption for purchases.
Involved States
The multi-state investigation was led by attorneys general from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and included Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, and South Dakota.
Illinois received approximately $946,000.
Minnesota received over $632,000.
Wisconsin received over $750,000.
Iowa received over $400,000.
The settlement does not prevent individual private lawsuits, and Menards did not admit to wrongdoing as part of the agreement.

Should answer a few questions
