ARG I just bought 2 x 22TB from seagate cuz capital one had a deal spend 500 get 200 back... Now this pops up.. g'dmit.. I can't undo and re do my deal with capital one..
Blarg. These were NOT at this price 2 days ago i know that much Damnn good deal tho, I STRONGLY suggest people shuck these or at the very very very least, Take the top part of the plastic case off, these run HOT when used, I've seen averages of 55-60C in the plastic encloser when used for sfv checking a large amount of files or downloading a large amount or even moving large amounts of small files.
shucked temps inside a pc around 30-32c is my average and the one with the top off is around the same just sitting on top of my pc.
These drives need air flow and they won't get it inside the plastic cases Fyi.

Any recommendations for specific inexpensive enclosures? I have a primary 4-bay Terramaster DAS and I bought one of these when they came in stock a couple of days ago with the intention of using it for monthly rsyncs and cold storage. Or is removing the top adequate?
Some of the reviews on the listing are quite critical about drives craping out within week or so. Kinda iffy. Can't seem to find the speeds of these platters.. Can anyone confirm?

I've been buying these and shucking them in capacities from 14TB to 26TB and haven't had any issues. Not running in raid. Oldest ones a little over a year old. Just using for Plex media storage in a DAS and have been great.

I'm hoping they decide to discount the 24TB next because that would be my preferred increment to load up on 4+ drives though.
