I got one years ago when it first launched as a replacement for my Z2Force. When you drop the phone the odds of it cracking are significantly higher than a normal phone because of the curved exposed edges. That was the very first phone I owned that I managed to crack even with a case.
The price is outstanding but I would advise against it if you drop your phone alot of work in a rugged environment.

This open box Motorola Edge 2025 stands out as a cheap unlocked phone with strong everyday performance, good battery life, and a chance of arriving like new. The excellent units were reported in pristine shape with accessories, and the curved display feels great for swiping and media. The main drawbacks are the curved edges, which make cases and screen protectors awkward and can crack more easily if dropped, plus some units may include carrier bloatware. Best Buy checkout also surfaced a $45 restocking fee and occasional plan prompts.
Common Questions (5)
Open-box Excellent units have arrived in pristine or perfect condition, often with no scratches and all accessories/manual included. The curved-edge design may also mean more returns from buyers who dislike it, which can increase the chance of a like-new unit.
The curved exposed edges make it more crack-prone when dropped, even with a case, and the side curve makes screen protectors harder to fit. If you need rugged protection or want to use both a case and protector comfortably, this model is a poor fit.
A $45 restocking fee can appear at checkout for activatable phones, but some open-box purchases have been reported as not charged that fee. The fee may be waived for unopened items and in certain states, so it's worth checking before buying.
Yes, the Best Buy app has been used to bypass the carrier-plan prompt that appears on the website or PC browser. The browser flow may push Verizon or AT&T setup even though the phone is listed as unlocked.
No. The 2025 Edge's USB is no longer 3.1, so wired Smart Connect is not supported, while the 2024 Edge still supports it. If you use Dex-style wired desktop features, the 2024 model is the better choice.
