Yeah I have the Echo Show 10 in my kitchen, the one that rotates and what not. The UI sucks and it really doesn't do much but tell time, weather and offer me a timer. I got in on a trade in deal and wouldn't buy another.
If they'd give these a more tablet like interface and some actual apps they'd be alright. The sound quality is good, but I have a great stereo so I never play music on it.
Just FYI, I looked into the fire OS on the 15/21, its equivalent to android 9 (pie), so those who are considering side loading the Google Play store, u will be very limited on what you can install

I got the Echo Show 21 to slideshow photos from Amazon photos., (and of course everything else it does). 21" photo frame for $199 is a deal by itself, especially integrating with Amazon Photos. Have a Lenovo 21" photo frame that used to integrate with Google Photos, but no longer does, after Lenovo abandoned support.
I like my Show to do lights and other smart devices, but for a search or answer anything, the AI sucks. As long as Amazon uses Bing or whatever lame search browser to find answers it will always be deficient.

Such a good value. Does anyone know the specs and how it compares to the older Echo 15?
I used to own the older one...the listing says the benefits of Gen2 are:
- More powerful vibrant sound with double the bass and crisper vocals
- Smart Home Hub with Zigbee and Thread support
- 13 MP centered camera with more than double the field of view and 3.3x zoom
- WiFi 6E for faster streaming
HOWEVER, I am noticing a few drawbacks. The Biggest Change (a different OS) they do not mention
-- Compatibility with my FireTV Recast DVR and its live tuner is gone, so no live TV except through Amazon's offered channels or SlickTV/YoutubeTV and the like.
- The 2nd Gen uses Amazons's proprietary Vegas OS instead of the Previous Android Based FireOS. As a result, it is more locked down. The 1st thing I ran into is that it does not have a Spotify App available. I believe it can still play Spotify with voice commands, but it no longer has a graphical app. Vegas OS is purposely more tethered.
Let me know if smarter folks than me find a work-around or if I am in error.
I ordered the 21" Echo Show. Could NOT get the coupon to work in conjunction with trade in. So I cancelled the trade in and just used the coupon. Still a good deal.
