The reviews on Amazon appear to be from a different small switch.
This device doesn't seem to be manageable unless thru the cloud.

Please note all TP-Link Festa Devices do not work with TP-Link Omada Controllers. Festa Devices require Festa Cloud to manage. Standalone mode does not apply.

I've actually only heard good things. I'm on ubiquiti + old datacenter switches, but somewhat contemplating changing (or at least getting a tp-link to try). Apparently they properly implement a number of routing specs that ubiquiti doesn't do as well (IGMP, multicast routing, ipv6, basically Matter-related things for me that have been causing headaches). I haven't tried it myself yet though.

I wouldn't personally get this one because I would at least want >1gbps for the sfp ports (seems like a silly choice).

But at this price, if its limitations fit your needs, seems like a good deal.

Not most people. And I suspect 1 GbE would continue to serve most people just fine for years to come. But power users would probably want to get into 2.5+ GbE to make better use of their home servers.

Most managed switches are good in network segmentation with VLANs. They don't need Internet access and can't be easily hacked if the basic security measures are implemented. I personally prefer older Cisco or Juniper switches. They are dirt cheap on ebay. Not user friendly for novices, but great if you know what you're doing.

No. Most people don't even realize that switches have different speeds.
I do a fair bit of computer related work. I might saturate 1G links an hour or two a month. Not much value replacing anything early.

Same. I've had many of their unmanaged switches but how is the UI here?
Also...I know it's cheap but with this many ports I'd want PoE

I keep waiting for a 2.5g switch deal. All the computers I've built in the last 4 years have had 2.5g lan ports, including the ones with basic motherboards.
The last motherboard I remember having 1g was an ASRock B350 Pro from 2017 I think.

I have this same issue with all TPLink "smart" devices.
Also, proprietary managed switch interface seems limiting - would rather have something that plays well with other hardware.
