The TX RZ50 stands out as a strong value AVR for smaller to medium rooms, with Dirac Live onboard, guided setup menus, and enough power to drive demanding speakers cleanly. It is praised for clear, cohesive sound, easy calibration, and solid performance at concert levels, with some owners calling it hard to beat near this price. The main tradeoffs are that the extra two channels matter only if you need them, and reliability and retailer handling have raised concerns in a few firsthand reports. A good fit when you want Dirac and 9.2 channel flexibility without stepping up to RZ70 pricing.

Note: my calcs don't consider the stupid tariffs that are in play in the current AVRs!

One thing I don't understand is these Onkyo deals keep coming but never at other retailers, not even close. Why is that? It makes me think there's something we don't know about what they're selling.

Based on folks who have experience with this vendor, it seems like selling used products for new and then charging return shipping will always be a reality as long as SD exists. Don't forget the SD cheerleaders who never saw a bad AVR and constantly in "selling mode" while pretending to give advice to your benefit.
GreyRecess is kinda going backwards in the AVR dept: the SR875 was 140W into 2ch and the RZ30 is 100W into 2ch. A good modern comp would be the RZ70 but especially w/tariffs, the pricing is still a bit tough to swallow.
This has been out since 2021 & there are vast many more people who bought this from Adorama that share your opinion than chicken little opinions in that timeframe.
Adorama is an authorized seller just like wherever you bought your RZ50.
Technically everyone has this on sale, if you feel like chicken little, just pay the extra sale price for that comfort.
Pointing to power as a modern equivalent in sound performance is misleading.
You're a perfect example(as is GreyRecess), this drives your setup just fine, why pay $1600 for the RZ70.
FYI the RZ30 would likely do the same & you wouldn't tell the difference.
From setting up both the only real advantage to this are the extra 2 channels of processing.
That's if you don't need those 2 channels of course.

He is very please with this with that GoldenEar setup.
Those Triton's are pretty low impedance.
There are plenty of owners over on AVS that feel the same way!
Both can't be right!
Hmmm
The question becomes, who's correct, measurements or actual owners/users!
