The classic plumbing stuff has always been red. The plumber's wrench with a spring clamp head (aka heavy duty rapidgrip wrench) is one of the greatest tools you will ever own. If you've got the cash or are a pro, this more than pays for itself when you can't shut off a supply pipe. For a home owner, learn to sweat pipe...there will be many times this can't fit where you might want it to.

This is the original Ridgid. A company called Techtonic licensed the Ridgid name to put on their orange AEG power tools to sell in the American market. https://www.aeg-powertools.eu/en-eu

1000% agreed. It's insane how expensive these tools are.

Why would someone pick this when the m12 Milwaukee pro press is ~2300-2500?

From what I understand, this Ridgid has the ability to press up to 2" PEX and Metal...or up to 4" metal by using another accessory. Although this kit itself does not include those Jaw sizes - it only includes up to 1". Also this one is more durable and doesn't require calibration service after 32k cycles unlike the Milwaukee.
For most residential applications the M12 is great. Lighter and more maneuverable. This Ridgid one is better when dealing with larger pipe diameters.

Personally I've only dealt with press tools in residential applications and the M12 is great. A friend has the Ridgid and it's bulky and heavy.
