Good price, I have this fridge, same as the Midea @ costco and whatever one is at Home Depot for $1200+.

Adjustable shelf doesn't allow a lot of tall items, those have to go on the door. Shelves bend and won't take a lot of weight. Little clearance on bottom shelf and flex means either catching milk jug cap on lip of higher shelf above it or catching crisper drawer and dragging them open. So milk has to go on the door.

Best buy delivery was good, but fridge compartment had split shelf track at the back, where it chewed through to expose insulation (happens a lot in shipping if you read the reviews). Good vinyl tape to seal it up and call in to complain to best buy can get you a $100 Gift Card if you decide to keep the damaged fridge.

I'm 6'3" and it's great not having to contort myself and kill my back to try to reach anywhere except the front of the fridge or the door. Easier to bend down and grab the frozen food for the quick easy dinner nights with the pull out drawers.

29.5" maximum width in our old house meant this model was our only option aside from crappy 18.0 or less top freezer models. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, though I did buy the extended warranty.

what's so good about bottom freezer type vs the old top freezer fridge? You get less storage for the freezer since the drawer itself takes up some space, and you will need a fan to push up the cold air while the top freezer type don't really need one since cold air naturally flow downwards? I recently had to replace the fan inside my GE French door fridge and much appreciated the simpler design.
I dont know about you but being 6'3" and I think most people use the fridge more than the freezer, I think thats pretty self explanatory.... no one should really care about paying an extra $20/month (which is not even close to the penalty but even so...) for that convenience. If u r short or u dont use the fridge much, this is obv a non factor.

Even the bottom shelf is flimsy, or does a rest on something more solid?

And obviously hoping I don't have a crack in mind, but just vinyl takes care of, or we looking at future problems because of that?

Yeah I think that's true for most people and settle for a lot of these issues because we have less width and room to put in a fridge, Much cheaper than redoing your whole counter system to fit in a larger fridge. There are actually some French door fridges that fit in this space but they're never on sale.

It's just the back of the track the shelf rests in. The movement of the shelf during shipping rips the inner fridge wall liner exposing foam insulation. You can see pictures galore in the reviews. I figure it's sealed up enough to be a cold air/moisture barrier with the tape. Most people aren't repeatedly adjusting shelves 10x/year.

Bottom shelf is flimsy.

I just bought the 20.5 top freezer garage ready from costco for $500 for a rental. Hard to beat Costco for appliances when you get extra year of warranty and free delivery/haul away. Pricing always includes the parts to hook up as well.

https://www.costco.com/.product.1...29a399c0-0

This begs the question: Is this garage-ready? I lost all my freezer stuff during this cold weather in my garage because the freezer never kicked on and hence the freezer came up to the refrigerator temperature.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, this model is only tested to operate within typical indoor ambient temperatures (55 °F to 110 °F) and is not rated for garage environments that can experience colder or hotter conditions outside that range.

I think there is a trick (make some heat) to make the freezer working. Search online.

When you open a vertical freezer all the cold air "falls" down and out. With a bottom chest style freezer, the cold air stays out. It's more efficient and you'll get less frost buildup from opening it.
