My only complaint is that you have to use a USB-C cable to connect to a PC. I wish the Bluetooth connection worked on PC as well.
I am getting two more. They make perfect gifts.

- Niimbot labels are not much more expensive than third-party options.
- They are good quality.
- There is no guessing about compatibility because they just work.
- The chip in the label is very convenient. When you load it, the printer automatically detects the label size, so nothing needs to be set.
My only complaint is that you have to use a USB-C cable to connect to a PC. I wish the Bluetooth connection worked on PC as well.I am getting two more. They make perfect gifts. But be aware that you have to use ONLY Niimbot brand labels in all their printer devices, as each label roll has a circuitry label attached to it that is required for the prinetr to even work. It won't work with any generic/cheaper labels.
But then you end up stuck with your own outdated knowledge and refuse to read and learn new things.
Also, if you read the reviews, you'll see that some people have tried other labels and they work. I am not buying them, though, because they are not any cheaper, and the chip that automatically sets the label size is incredibly convenient, not to mention the quality.
FWIW, cheapo printers purchase prices are subsidized by the expectation you'll buy more labels. There is a reason this thermal printer is $15 or an inkjet at Walmart only costs $29. They are losing money banking (almost literally) you'll keep using their branded supplies. They are selling at a loss because they really like you.
Personally I wouldn't call you buying the cheapest thing an "anti-consumer" practice, but nickeling and diming...yourself.
FWIW:
-the recommended Phomemo shipping label printer appears to cost $60+....that's a lot of labels you'll need to use for such pro-consumerism (non-subsidized printer) to pay off.
-Niimbot printers are supposed to be really easy to fool into using any label. Pretend problem solved and bonus points you are now sticking it to the man by NOT buying their labels

Doesn't matter if some user are able to hack and use other generic paper. Doesn't change the fact it's a shty move by shty company.
If you read my original comment, i said, I can't support such an anti-consumerist company.
You do you!
(Also I bought my label maker for 9 bucks)
