This is actually a decent deal for a change. Don't pay any attention to the MSRP (when can we actually believe that anyway lol). I had researched both this and the larger version (the XXL) maybe 2 years ago and my coworker ended up getting the XXL. It is mediocre and didn't get as loud as other party speakers its size. While looking into them, I seem to remember reading that this model was apparently designed by Klipsch where the XXL is apparently just a rebrand that they purchase from a manufacturer and put their name on (pretty common as a global practice). The sound signatures of both are supposedly pretty different because of this difference with the better quality going to this model. Now, all of that being said, I have never personally listened to this model. The XXL does not necessarily impress with bass output, overall volume, or clean sound when used at full volume. The Gig XXL has frequently gone for maybe $20 more as open box or refurb-excellent condition from reputable eBay sellers which is what made my coworker buy it in the first place. I'm half tempted to order one of these just to play as I've been increasingly curious about how it holds up to other form factors but just haven't needed anything this size and would literally be buying it to test, play with, and sell off to friends who don't like to find deals the way I do (a pretty common occurrence and I've become well known as the guy to go to when someone wants a deal lol).

I would love to hear some feedback about whether or not this has held up against any other solid budget (or non budget) options out there. For $65, it seems like it would satisfy most people's needs pretty handily

Nice price for a decent speaker, ideal for a party. But was it ever $250? Similar Klipsch speakers are available for $100.....

Not saying this speaker is good or bad but this is just mass produced in China. The Klipsch branding means nothing in this case.

They are legit, but only a certain series, mostly their home audio stuff, portable stuff like this seem to be mid range. I saw some reviews and they seem ok. I might get one to test for garage use.

I have a lot of experience with these speakers — I purchased two of the Gig XXL models for work. They get fairly loud and, importantly, I haven't experienced any weird clipping or distortion even at higher volumes.
Bluetooth connectivity isn't the most seamless if multiple users are trying to connect, but it's not difficult once you get the hang of it. The power cables are also easy to replace, and I personally prefer using 10-foot replacements for added flexibility.
One thing worth noting is the pricing. The advertised "$65 off $250" type of discount can be misleading since these speakers frequently go on sale in the $120–$140 range. I was able to find an older XXL version for $100 each, which works great. That said, I did purchase mine during this deal and still find it worth it. They're a solid value when bought at the typical sale price — just not truly a 70%+ discount like some promotions suggest.
Overall, they're reliable, loud, and a good buy when purchased at the right price.

So are you saying this is just some generic OEM speaker and Klipsch didn't have anything to do with the design and engineering of it?

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Either you are wrong or Klipsch is lying. "Every new speaker that has the Klipsch logo bestowed upon it is designed and engineered with pride at our worldwide headquarters in Indianapolis. Our team of engineers and product managers put their heart and soul into each and every one of our products, whether it be our smallest in-ear headphone or our biggest floorstanding speaker." https://www.klipsch.com/usa-engineered

Definitely lying. The "Klipsch" we all remember doesn't make anything in these speakers.

I never said make, I said "design and engineered". Nobody has any illusions that Klipsch actually manufactures these. There is a company in Denmark called Scan-Speak that makes high-end drivers for speakers. They have their own designs, but also will do custom manufacturing based on the designs of the customer. Just because a company uses Scan-Speak drivers doesn't mean they weren't involved in the design.

"Driver Discrepancy: Some users and community discussions have claimed that the drivers in the GIG series (specifically the XL and XXL) appear identical to those found in speakers from other VOXX-owned or partner brands like Sharp.
Materials: Critics on platforms like Reddit have pointed out that the GIG XL uses a paper-cone tweeter, which they argue is a "cheap" component not typically associated with high-end Klipsch legacy products."

My original point was that the Klipsch quality speaker isn't what your buying here. Again, not saying these speakers are good or bad quality, just that they arent "Klipsch".

Really, a speaker currently selling for $65 and frequently in $120 range doesn't have the same components as high-end speakers? How shocking. If the Klipsch speakers share drivers with their corporate cousins, how do we know Klipsch didn't design them and then VOXX used them on their other brands?

Or Voxx is simply using Klipsch's brand recognition for their generic speakers, like many companies do when they buy other brands.

I'm not trying to argue here. Buy them, enjoy them. I'm sure they're great.
