jfc I just bought this two days ago so of course they drop the price now. Just set up a return of the one I got and bought this because this is a steal.
I had a wireless dongle for 2 years, generic no-name that worked great, but then Android 14+ stopped allowing Fermata Auto to be displayed on the screen and only this device became the foolproof way to get it back.
Got it, set it up, and worked immediately. Plus the DPI changing settings makes for a great, larger dashboard as well.
Spend the money and get this, especially at this price.

Could you give us more details how you got Fermata to work? I've been unsuccessful so far.

with this dongle you have to enabled "Developer options" in the AAWireless App on your phone (turning off "Passthrough"), and in Android Auto settings you have to enable Developer mode and allow the "Unknown Sources".
I also installed Fermata via the KingInstaller but don't know if that is required anymore.

I have Fermata and CarStream installed on my phone. Both work fine, but on AA in my car neither works.

Idk if it's my phone but this thing loses connection randomly. I even returned it and got a new one in case it was a faulty unit. It works 80% of the time. It's so frustrating.

I think you have the Two+ which supports both. This only supports android.
However, if you only have android, I suggest getting this instead. Due to lack of support for auto standby in carplay, Two+ removed support for it on android as well. So this means the dongle stays on as long as its getting power from your car's USB port. I ended up configuring the button to toggle standby mode when I park it in the garage to avoid having to wait for my car to cut USB power.

This drives me crazy! I have the original AAW and was looking for another for my wife's car. She's iPhone and I'm Android.
My AAW is stuck on the last very version before they removed Car Play, which works perfectly for both of our phones. Then AAW2 also only supports Android. I was then just expecting to get the AAW2+, but they removed the auto standby there.

did you try the Fermata via King Installer? uninstalling the one you have already and doing it that way?
I didn't change a thing between my old dongle and this one in terms of trying to get it working (it never did on the old dongle of course, but i still installed via KingInstaller and tried). But then I just plugged this in, paired it, set it to developer mode, and when i power cycled the device/car Fermata was available in my app list under "customize" finally

I didn't see the AAWireless TWO+ on Amazon but, FYI if you need one that supports both CarPlay and AndroidAuto AAWireless has the TWO+ which supports both on sale for $52 on their website. They also didn't charge me tax so only ended up being $4 more.

I have the same issue, though admittedly I also have this issue (though not nearly as frequently) in cars that have built-in wireless AA. I noticed it happens more often when I have my phone in my left pocket. Also, if you notice it happen predictably in certain areas, try changing it to 2.4 ghz only. But even with this, I do also occasionally lose the connection. Not sure why this is. Is it that these types of devices are just underpowered? Or do cars with built-in wireless AA have better wifi antennas?

I've gone through a few of the cheap AA devices, and they all seem to die within 6 months. Recently I picked up the Motorola unit that has been highly reviewed. Does anyone know if this is better than the Motorola unit?

Works great with my Volvo. Really fast.
I've only had it for a month. Hopefully it lasts a while.

Which Motorola device? The ones I looked at in the past had tons of reviews saying that they died within weeks or months...
