Thanks, OP. I took advantage of this exact same promo last month but even better, it was $10/month for 6 months. I've been using it as my Secondary e-SIM in my iPhone for Data, since I'm currently with "by the Gig" with Xfinity Mobile.

So far, Tello has never let me down, fast & reliable data connection in my area (SF Bay Area) and the tethering/hot spot is awesome too.

They have very flexible data/minutes/text options to meet our budget. ** BTW, I'm not Tello employee, nor get any bonus, just sharing my observation here Big Grin **

I would continue be with them after the promo ends, only with less data allowance, since I don't really need Unlimited Data. nod

$15 per month for a full year was the better deal.

But yeah, after the 3 months, you can switch tiers every month to roll over and accumulate more minutes and data than you ever need (this is the hack).

This is interesting, but won't apply to any new customers for a year:
Big news: Data Rollover is here for the Tello Unlimited Plan customers! The highlights: Roll over up to 50 GB per month, and accumulate up to 100 GB total. Once eligible, data rolls over automatically; no action needed.
We wanted to build this feature as a true "thank you" for our Unlimited Plan customers. To qualify: Your Tello line must have been active for 12+ months. You must have been on an Unlimited plan for the last 6 billing cycles.

You don't need to switch tiers. The day before your plan renews manually cancel the plan and pick the same one. I've been rolling over the 1 gig 300 minute plan for years.

Wow. I pay 28 cents in fees. It used to be 7 cents on the 7 dollar plan.

And when many learn how little data they actually use and figure out that they could get a plan with defined benefits, they'll realize how they're overpaying with unlimited plans. I have used a 1-2 gig a month plan for years and just renew it the day before it auto renews. I have 20gig rolling over.

Yes, mines $14 in Maryland
I think u had a typo bro, I'm in MD, the tax for the entire three months is $1.45⁩, which is curiously less than the 6% sales tax (4.8% charged). The sim is free BTW.

Also, it's not just for new customers, its for new lines with existing customers, so you don't have to pull any stunts. I have an account and family of sims with them already. Good product, good company, recommend!

Order Summary
Tello line ⁦$0⁩
SIM card ⁦$3⁩
100% Discount ⁦-$3⁩
Custom Plan ⁦$30⁩
Unlimited data
Unlimited mins
Unlimited text
USPS First-Class Mail ⁦$0⁩
Taxes and Surcharges ⁦$1.45

Total due today $31.45⁩

Can you explain that better, because I think I noticed it by accident. Normally I let the lines run out of data. They let you renew at that point as if you just signed up, it add new data and sets that as your new bill date.

BUT, I wanted to downgrade a line, before it renewed in case I forgot. So I downgraded 5GB to 1GB before it expired and it rolled over the 5GB. Does that stay for the entire month? I was assuming it only stuck around until its original expiration. This all just happened.

So the hack is, you have to switch plans prior to your expiration every month and it rolls over forever? If you miss the date, then you lose it? If theres a link or more info I'd be curious to check it out. Thanks

No, you don't have to switch plans. The only thing you have to do is manually renew before the automatic renewal happens. I always do it the day before, but some people try to do it very early the morning of the renewal. Right now I am on the $6 plan, when I renew I set a calendar reminder for the day before the next renewal. You can change plans, but you do not have to. As long as the new plan has a fixed amount of data and/or minutes the previous total will roll. And it will continue to roll indefinitely. Here is where it is explained on the website:

Well, there are now two different rollover policies. You can still roll fixed amounts by manually renewing early. The second policy for unlimited plans will happen automatically for accounts after 12 months.
