I'd bought a win11 key from another retailer. They don't tell you until after you bought that you had to download an iso they had, hosted on a CN server with some cryptic 'adjustments' made to the activation. In other words those guys had a hacked activation that only worked with the Enterprise activation codes they sold. Piggy backing on volume licensing I'm sure, somewhere something might have been legit, but the requirements they had were far from anything I was going to agree to. That company did refund my $.

I have Windows 10 on an older laptop (Dell Inspiron 15) of which I don't use much so is there any upside to going with this 11 Pro?

I did not see this detail from Brytesoft until I made the purchase: they tell you in the order confirmation that you only have 30 days to activate these product keys: Important note: Please activate your product key(s) within 30 days of the date of purchase. There will be no refund or replacement for any error reported to us for product keys that have not been activated within that period. That is a deal breaker for me...
That's because there are bots that will power through trying to get free keys. So they are basically saying they dont want to guarantee a key after 30 days because it may not be there. This happened to me with a humble bundle key I got for an RPG maker, I left it for 2 years and it said someone redeemed it. In my opinion you should just redeem it right away, if not try to give it to someone that needs it if you know anyone.

Because they can buy 20 of these keys for that price. People like to take their chances.
Their point is why pay money at all if you can just copy and paste a line into Powershell and activate Windows in 3 seconds

You still need a legitimate key for activating via powershell. That's just is a manual way of activating windows, but it doesn't do away with needing a key. These are definitely not retail keys, but they are keys nonetheless. They will register with Microsoft and will activate windows. Paying a few dollars is better than mucking around with pirated keys, or hacky activation methods that might be prone to break. Buying these gray market keys generally work. But the occasional user might get an error saying the key has already been redeemed. These companies are generally good about providing a new key when that happens (no experience with this particular company; just talking in general). Microsoft doesn't generally invalidate these gray market keys. It's been known to happen for stolen keys, but these are likely not stolen -- rather are bulk volume licensing keys being sold outside of their intended use.

these companies usually sell the same key over and over again. They have a builder activation key.

Honest question for anyone who is about to buy this:

If you know that this isn't a legitimate retail key (and it's not; Microsoft doesn't sell them for anywhere near this price to home users), why are you paying for an illegitimate copy when free alternatives exist?
Especially when there is an online activation site that activates anything microsoft for free.

it's a game microsoft plays. They don't care, the telemetry is what they're after rather than retail sales. They will take retail and make big bucks from bulk keys as it is. If they really had a problem with it they could clamp down on this stuff. I don't think they really care as they've done this as far back as I can remember. As long as you're using windows and not linux or something else they don't care. They want market share, telemetry and lots of both. Not saying they don't want sales because they'll take those too, but it's not the end all be all focus imo.
FYI you can turn the telemetry off with Chris Titus Tech's Windows Utility.

Just do a general search or go to github and search and you'll find the instructions. Works for Win10 & Win11 both, and you can debloat everything if you want, AI, cloud, cortana, even Adobe services.

Buy from this deal and make sure SD gets a fat commission or buy the same grey market key elsewhere for less than $1

I'd rather donate $4.75 to Linux developers who make a much better OS, which by the way doesn't spy on you. LOL

It is remarkable the deals these companies are able to work out with microsoft to help consumers get low cost access to their ecosystem.

I'm thoroughly done with windows... supposedly paying for several "lifetime" licenses that are now useless for no other reason than they want people to upgrade ALL Of their hardware for absolutely no real reason. Linux Mint all the way every day AND i can use whatever machine I want to use

These are bulk licenses (enterprise, etc.) that are being sold for purposes counter to what the license agreement says. You can argue semantics all day - these are legit licenses, but you can't actually use them legitimately for the purpose you are buying them for. They'll work at first (or if not, the seller may give you a new one), but eventually they will be blacklisted. That's the reason for the 30 days.
