Be aware those who want to use this as a wifi smart device I recently received one that was Verizon locked. And was unable to get past the initial setup screen without a VALID Verizon SIM card. I tried an old card which didn't work successfully.

Fantastic idea for a retro emulation device. These phones are so cheap and capable that they would make perfectly suitable gaming setups.

Interesting. I personally have the Total Wireless branded model (these services all fall under the same parent company) and it has 8GB of RAM. The Walmart product page [walmart.com] for the Walmart Family Mobile model also lists 8GB of RAM, as well. Thanks for the heads up, ptt1404. If anyone else happens to pick that model up, please report back once you receive it.

I have a Straight Talk version and a factory unlocked version and they both have 8gb of RAM. I didn't think Motorola made a different RAM version but who knows.

Verizon is the only one that locked devices on initial set up unless you activate. I have a straight talk I used it with wifi only, and can be activated everytime I want with no SIM card or active service.

Same. I bought mine last December, my Walmart has this 2024 ver and a stylus on clearance for $25. Can't get past the setup screen.
