I didn't think it had soldered RAM but true enough, no ram sticks visible.
There seems to be a free short M2 slot available (at least on mine) probably for cellular which I don't have on this laptop.
My personal experience with these laptops:
  • fan pretty much always on at startup for ~ 15 mins. granted our organization has a lot of scans during startup
  • every action seems to spike processor to 100% for a few seconds
  • I've had 2 of these models just randomly die; will not power on etc. short research showed the USBc board needs replaced based on one youtube video.
Wife has the i5 version of this and she's not had any issues (school). I feel like 9th/10th gen was great, 11th gen sucked, 12th gen+ ok.
