The 4 pack is $35 on Amazon a much better value. Great gadget, the only minor flaw is there is no place to put the original battery cover so you will probably lose it. It would have been easy to carve out a small place for it.
Otherwise, it's held by 4 hex screws and features a rubber gasket so real well made and sturdy mine are going on like 2 years now with Lithium AAs

i kept the bag that the screws came in and tossed the original battery cover in that. bag went into the "don't throw away" drawer
on the product itself mine have also been going strong. i only had one running in one vehicle and after a few months of no problems i added a second one to another vehicle. no issues so far

Grabbed a 4-pack of these the last time they went on sale. Seems like a quality product, setup was super easy and it's great that I don't have to worry about battery life for a while. Apparently these are also compatible with gen 2.

I got similar ones a while back. Will these work on the new Airtag 2s? I know the dimensions are a tiny bit different, but maybe tolerances would still work.

I tossed one of these in with my spare tire, and it's really nice. I can never forget where I parked.

One would only lose the original cover is if they misplace it. Store it with other essential bits and pieces that need to be retained for long-term use.

They notably recently launched a smaller AAA version that lasts for 5 yrs.
Recommended to get the Energizer lithium batteries in the picture since they last 10 yrs w/o leaking.

If that's still not enough you can DIY a car battery adapter with a voltage regulator.

Thanks for the purchase link! Just ordered a four-pack and starting to do speaker-removal surgery on four AirTags.
