Do we think that'll work?
If time is more important, check your local Walmart for these phones under $30 [walmart.com]. Best Buy also has phones for $30. [bestbuy.com]
RDC (the promotional credits) needs a corresponding EIP. If the EIP isn't active on your account (probably since the phones are backordered), then the RDC won't show up.
Have people been able to get $800 through 833-428-1765?

I have been with Tmo for over 10 years, so not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I see an option for "ONLY Any Trade Promo Smrtphne" and then it lets me enter the IMEI.
Do we think that'll work?
I have been with Tmo for over 10 years, so not sure if that had anything to do with it.
Just called again and instead of telling them I wanted to upgrade via R499 promo I just said that I wanted to upgrade one of my upgradeable lines. She asked me my info (T-Mobile Pin, Costco mbr #) and told me that the indigo Pixel 10 is about a month backordered but I could still order it and the other color was just a week delayed. Chose the latter and she asked for the IMEI. Was a bit worried when she put me on hold for a while but came back and said that she understand that the trade-in is for any condition/phone but still asked about water damage and power-on, After that she got everything ready for me (asked for CC, address, sign edocs, etc) and said payment for today was for tax ($84) and that I should be getting the GC in 16 weeks. Everything went smooth and she said that I need to turn in the trade-in within the time period needed and that was it.
Hope this info helps.
I mentioned promo code R499, and I am on the "Value Essentials" plan; she said she sees that promo available for my account, and that I have been a T-Mobile customer for 12+ years.
She explains the promo is $800 off a Google Pixel 10 phone with ANY TRADE IN, ANY CONDITION
Based on my plan, I didn't expect the any condition offer to be available to me, and I was expecting I would have to trade my current phone. I explain to Gem that I have an old Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that does not power on, but I am able to pop off the back of the phone, lift off the easily removable battery, and I can see the IMEI on a sticker under the battery. I ask if I can truly trade in this old phone that has been sitting in a cabinet for years, and get $800 off my upgrade. Answer: Yes. I ask to confirm I can and will remain on my Value Essentials plan. Answer: Yes. I ask if I will still get the Costco member benefits of a $35 activation fee waiver, and a $100 Costco digital shop card. Answer: Yes.
I give the IMEI number, and Gem is able to confirm it is a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 32GB, and that it will fulfill the trade-in requirement, even though it does not power on.
Gem asks which Google Pixel 10 I would like to upgrade to. I explain that I would prefer a 10 Pro with 256GB, any color, but she only sees 128GB available. The 256GB is important to me, so I elect to go with the 10 Pro XL in Obsidian with 256GB storage.
Gem explained I would be agreeing to be billed $50 per month for 24 months for the new phone, and at the same time, I would receive a monthly credit of $33.33, making the additional charge $16.67 per month (for 24 months, so ~$400).
$113.70 was due today, which is the sales tax in my area, on the full price of the new phone. I live in an area with very high sales tax. I paid this over the phone with Gem, using my Costco Visa.
Gem asked for my email address, and asked me to confirm I received an email notification that my eSignature was required to complete my order. I confirmed reception. Gem explained that I had 48 hours to complete this step, or my order would be canceled. And she advised that the dollar amounts presented would not show the credits, but that I would indeed get them.
I am upgrading from a 5 year old Samsung Galaxy A71 5G with 128GB of internal storage and a 128GB memory card for external storage. It has been out of life for updates for about 2 years now, and some apps are starting to not behave, seemingly randomly. The 10 Pro XL will be almost identical in size, but a little heavier.
Gotta love turning a junked phone that was sitting in a drawer into $800. I can't help but worry this is too good to be true, and that my trade-in will be rejected. I plan on returning my trade-in, in person, at my local T-Mobile store, rather than mailing it in.
Edit: Got the text. "T-Mobile: Thanks for your order #######! It should ship by 02/19/2026. A Trade-in value of $0.00 was quoted for the Galaxy Note 4 with serial number ######. Please complete your trade-in return within 30 days of receiving your new device. Visit T-Life for up-to-date status and trade-in return options." Now I'm worried about my trade in.
