This device has 128GB of storage, not 256GB as reported. Still a good deal.
someone earlier wrote: Perfect. I only need Wi-Fi, it's for a display for my drone controller. Wi-Fi and a big bright screen, which this has.
The $55 price is dead, now $65 is required as of 2/19/26

my first phone with metro was a moto with immediate unlock code from an ebay seller. that option gone.
second phone was S23FE unlocked after 60 days for $150. this is gone too!
Now this one with 365 days... wondering what policy next 🤔. worth a try for $55 I reckon.
"We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."
It goes by the activation date
We just stop paying after the first month is it?
And I'm hoping to unlock to boot loader for an alternate OS, carrier lock doesn't matter. Will I be able to immediately?
Besides, from what I have heard/found online and other discussions is that in terms of being shady and notorious, ATnT/Cricket are so bad that they make Verizon and MNVOs look like 'good guys'

I need a temperary phone while I send my current phone in for repairs. I was hoping this would work on the T-mobile network but alas. I don't qualify for a free advertised phone with my current plan. T-mobile wants me to make payments for two years to get a reduced price phone. Can't pay for it outright or pay it off early. It's a pain in the butt.
I'm still on the fence about ordering. The long wait to unlock and concern about potential battery drain issues mentioned in reviews give me some pause.
ST was recently offering 2 of these units for $75 which seems to be a better offer than Metro's, at least in terms of cost per unit, but $55 for one is still a nice deal for the specs. The ST promo has already expired, however, so it's no longer an option.
