Attached are GeekBench scores that I ran on the phones I have/had. The 2024 Moto G Stylus has similar scores to the Samsung A54 5G. The 2025 Moto G Stylus has a faster process than the 2024 version, so it should be faster than the A54. I ordered the 2025 Stylus this morning. I will run GeekBench on it when I receive it, and post the scores.

Unfortunately, after Verizon has been relieved of its boundation to unlock devices within 60 days on Jan 20 2026, this is the easiest and cheapest way to buy a new device with decent specs that gets auto unlock (albeit after 365 days) without paying anything extra after the initial activation. From the carrier perspective it makes little sense selling the devices at steep discount without even breaking-even by making the customer pay the overly inflated telecom service, so its kind of a stretch expecting them to easily unlock the devices (within a short period of time like 60 days).
Having said that, this is slickdeals Smilie and here, one expects to get the best possible 'bang for the buck' on a given day, hence the deal. Happy to be corrected.

Would love to get this but waiting a year for unlock sucks, that is an unreasonably long wait time 😞 They really should change unlock policy back to 60 days (or less).

Just want to make sure, while locked, will it work with T-Mobile MVNO sims like Mint Mobile or only Metro Sims?

Bought yesterday, shipped today, should arrive tomorrow with UPS. 😁
Shipping info shows "SIM Starter Kit Metro", most likely not e-sim.
So far, I like the Total Wireless/Verizon version I am using, battery is not that bad, just disable all the junk apps with ADB and turn of data for those that can't be disabled, wireless charging magnet is not as strong as apple's and is difficult to align, I bough a case with the ring built in to help.
My only big gripe is that I prefer the fingerprint sensor on the power button like previous models, not on the front touch screen like newer Samsung models. Having to press the power button or double tap the screen to wake up, then touch the front screen, and dealing with the blinding touch sensor white light at night😱.
Phone came with a sim kit in the same package.

Just got mined today and it's not a bad phone especially not for $55. No issues w/ waiting for it to auto-unlock in a year. Although, had I known about the iphone 13 promo, would've gotten that one instead even with port in. I do agree w/ some that the fingerprint sensor is way too low on the phone. I don't mind on display sensors but they need to put it where most people's thumbs naturally land on the screen. That or put it on the power button like the G power.

They could do that, and then you would pay full price. These are heavily subsidized by the expectation that you will pay for a service plan
They should just stop playing the 'free' phone game when they actually make you pay for the phones via higher plan fees. It's been shown consumers pay MORE for the phone then outright purchase when it's subsidized like that. Just doing some quick math, if you keep the plan for a year you would have paid $240+ (about $20-25 more a month) for the 'free' phone that's locked for the first year.

once it unlocks is it gonna be limited to verizon network /mvnos or will it also work on att network carriers? how common is it for mfrs to make diff network versions these days? (i'm old and dont replace phones often and that used to be every phone...).
Most phones today are made with the frequencies needed to work with multiple carriers (it's baked on to the SoC) so when unlocked should work with other carriers. Some may lack the more recent technologies (advanced 5G) to fully function so YMMV but most functions should work.

I guarantee you from experience, this will not work on Cricket, even when unlocked. I got this deal last December, phone unlocked recently, and when I swapped my SIM from cricket, it would not work. It is definitely whitelisted by the AT&T network, as the model number is XT2517V... apparently on XT2517-1 is the model that works on AT&T.

Which sucks for me because I did this a couple years ago to get the Moto G Stylus 2023 which DOES work on the cricket network (XT2315-1)

Try clearing cookies then reopen page or open page in incognito mode then you may have better luck adding to cart.

Does anyone know whether these phones would work abroad if it's still locked to Metro T-Mobile network? I know in the past sometimes when I'm on a prepaid plan, the sim restrictions don't apply when going abroad and using a local carrier sim of the countries I'm visiting i.e Ireland / France etc.. Didn't know if this is still the case today or situational depending on phone / carrier. Thanks in advance!

Not true. I have the same Verizon model and placed US Mobile card running on ATT network without any problems. It may be only Cricket blocking

You can order the iPhone13 by logging into your account and select Add A Phone. As an added perk, the 2nd line is only $30 (instead of $55). I just did it about an hour ago.

Interested in this for future proofing.
  • Can I get in on this and the iPhone deal?
  • Do I truly have to be a "new customer"?
  • I did the "free" phone thing in the past, when unlocking was 6 months.
I guess I'd start "new" here, then port-in/add a new line on the iphone deal as I have new Visible sim to use.
