Attached are GeekBench scores that I ran on the phones I have/had. The 2024 Moto G Stylus has similar scores to the Samsung A54 5G. The 2025 Moto G Stylus has a faster process than the 2024 version, so it should be faster than the A54. I ordered the 2025 Stylus this morning. I will run GeekBench on it when I receive it, and post the scores.

Unfortunately, after Verizon has been relieved of its boundation to unlock devices within 60 days on Jan 20 2026, this is the easiest and cheapest way to buy a new device with decent specs that gets auto unlock (albeit after 365 days) without paying anything extra after the initial activation. From the carrier perspective it makes little sense selling the devices at steep discount without even breaking-even by making the customer pay the overly inflated telecom service, so its kind of a stretch expecting them to easily unlock the devices (within a short period of time like 60 days).
Having said that, this is slickdeals Smilie and here, one expects to get the best possible 'bang for the buck' on a given day, hence the deal. Happy to be corrected.

Would love to get this but waiting a year for unlock sucks, that is an unreasonably long wait time 😞 They really should change unlock policy back to 60 days (or less).

I've tried a few times over the past day on different computers and networks and the order keeps getting instantly canceled.

Did you buy Metro phones/tablets in the past? If yes, it could be that they now block your order (based on name, email, street address, credit card number, etc). They blocked my orders last June after I bought 3 phones and 3 tablets from them. I tried again this month and was able to order again. Some 1st-time buyers got their orders blocked/cancelled without explanations.

There's something strange about the IMEI of this Metro Moto G Stylus 2025. I received mine yesterday and attached are screenshots of my checking.
Using Cricket IMEI Check: 2025 model got "Something didn't work right. System Down". 2024 model is Compatible.
Using AT&T IMEI Check: 2025 model got "IMEI not found". 2024 model was recognized(i.e. Compatible).
My money would be on the 2025 not being whitelisted by AT&T. It takes them 18-24 months to add new IMEI numbers to their database.

Dang that sucks, but no, I've never purchased from them or had a previous account.

I don't care about getting it unlocked. Just want to use it on WiFi. $55 and that's it for me then, right?

I ordered this on Weds. evening and my order has not yet shipped. In theory it should have shipped Thurs. per the order email:

Orders placed before 3:00 p.m. EST on a business day will normally ship the same day. After 3:00 p.m. EST, orders will ship the next business day.

My card was charged the moment I placed the order, so I am not sure what's going on.

Anyone else having a delay on the shipping?

This is a great gift to friends or loved ones visiting you from other country, let say for up to 30 days. After that, you or them can use the device with WiFi for some time before it could be unlocked.
I purchased 2 from Straight Talk which were unlocked after 2 months. However, it is 1-year now (and with ST it has to be on paid-service). Metro is having iphone 16e deal if you want to try and trade-in after a year that people have taken advantage of. Otherwises, I'm not aware of any carriers take this Moto G Stylus 5g for trade-in at the moment.
What the fark fever dream scenario is this

Ello mate fresh off the boat from England eh while I got ya a moto mobile to use cheerio
Don't worry ol chap I plan to use it again in 11 months when it unlocks
Cheerio good form jack

Yes. Up to several months ago, you could request the Port PIN by texting NTP (Network Transfer PIN) from your phone on TF to 611611, or log into your TF account-->Account & Payment to submit a request for the Port PIN. But now you have to call. The reps in the Port Dept are competent and thorough. They will provide you the account number (usually the IMEI), zip code of your line, then text the 4-digit Port PIN to your phone. The Port PIN is good for 7 days from issuance. They will ask why you're porting out, mainly for marketing-research reason. You can tell them whatever you want, no Right/Wrong answer.
