Attached are GeekBench scores that I ran on the phones I have/had. The 2024 Moto G Stylus has similar scores to the Samsung A54 5G. The 2025 Moto G Stylus has a faster process than the 2024 version, so it should be faster than the A54. I ordered the 2025 Stylus this morning. I will run GeekBench on it when I receive it, and post the scores.

Unfortunately, after Verizon has been relieved of its boundation to unlock devices within 60 days on Jan 20 2026, this is the easiest and cheapest way to buy a new device with decent specs that gets auto unlock (albeit after 365 days) without paying anything extra after the initial activation. From the carrier perspective it makes little sense selling the devices at steep discount without even breaking-even by making the customer pay the overly inflated telecom service, so its kind of a stretch expecting them to easily unlock the devices (within a short period of time like 60 days).
Having said that, this is slickdeals Smilie and here, one expects to get the best possible 'bang for the buck' on a given day, hence the deal. Happy to be corrected.

Would love to get this but waiting a year for unlock sucks, that is an unreasonably long wait time 😞 They really should change unlock policy back to 60 days (or less).

This is the Metro i16e (not i16) deal: https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/c...iphone-16e . It's not exactly FREE. You pay $99.99 for the phone, with a port-in, and pay for 3 months of service ($55 + $50 + $50). After that, you'll get a $100 gift card.

I don't use iPhones, but from what I've read the e versions are somewhat like the old SE models.

I don't know about just putting the SIM in another phone. I've used a function in the Metro account to transfer service to another (inactive) Metro phone. If your pixel 9 pro is not a Metro phone but is unlocked, you probably can put a Metro BYOP SIM in it then transfer service to it.

What's the out the door cost? I assume it's not worth porting your number over for a month and then back? That probably doesn't even make sense if you plan on continuing your existing service a month later.

I need a temperary phone while I send my current phone in for repairs. I was hoping this would work on the T-mobile network but alas. I don't qualify for a free advertised phone with my current plan. T-mobile wants me to make payments for two years to get a reduced price phone. Can't pay for it outright or pay it off early. It's a pain in the butt.
It's not hard to find new unlock one for a little more than 100 bucks!

How's this vs moto g power. For someone who doesn't care about pen. I already ordered g power.
STYLUS is about 30-40% faster than the g POWER. STYLUS also has a AMOLED screen which makes colors more vibrant.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm) is a mid-range SoC most comparable in raw CPU performance to the Apple A14 Bionic (iPhone 12 series).

For those that are having failed orders / cancellations -- Does the order submission fail immediately or do you get an email with cancelled status quickly after or did it get a pending charge and just never ship?
I placed an order 2 days ago and it was supposed to ship Friday and arrive Tuesday, but it hasn't changed status at all. Credit card got billed $55 exactly immediately. Order status still shows supposed to have shipped 2 days ago but still in Processing.
I last did this with the Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 version exactly 2 years ago, and have never done any other Metro/T-Mobile ordering any other times. Is it typical that it is just paused or is it silently cancelled ?
I think they're just slow to ship orders out. I got one from them in August of last year and it was several days before they shipped it. Kind of strange that they cover free 2-day shipping and spend several days sitting on the order.

Maybe with the increased number of orders due to the Slickdeals Effect their warehouse needed to be resupplied.

I have some questions and hopefully someone has the answers.

1. Does the phone come pre-activated or I can activate them within x numbers of days after receiving it?
2. After the moto phone is activated, can I move the number to an unlocked iphone?
3. If I am able to move the number to an iPhone, will the moto phone still unlock after 365 days?

thanks in advance

Thanks, I'm currently latching on to my note 20 ultra from 5+ years ago. I don't really care about gaming performance or cameras so this should do nicely if the Samsung ever craps out.

  1. You need to activate it yourself. I think you have 21 days from shipping to activate, else Metro will activate it automatically.
  2. You will need a (Free?) Metro BYOP SIM for the iPhone, then use a function in your Metro account to transfer service to it.
  3. I believe it will, since Metro Unlocking Policy doesn't specify that it has to be active for xx days.
