I have this and it's been reliable. That being said, I would spring for the next generation with built in cables for about 20 dollars more when they go on sale. Smaller and sleeker even without the built in cables.

That version isn't comparable in performance to this. Other than the convenience of those cables this is a much better pack and cheaper. It seems Anker is taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back with all their new devices.

More than double the cost of a new INIU 140W unit on a deal with a three year new product warranty.

Have multiple I paid less than $25 for...

Anker tax: It keeps going and going and going...

The Anker supports 140 watt max input, the inius only support 80

I have this and it is fantastic. I don't know how well a refurb would perform though

Sounds like we're talking about the Anker A1695 (25k with 2x built-in cables)?

I'll concede the A1289 has better in/out max at 140W (vs 100W on the A1695), and if charging a beefy laptop super fast is your primary use, then the A1289 is superior. I rarely am in a situation where the difference between 100W and 140W charge/recharge will make a difference, but if you're a high-power user, that difference is significant.

As someone who has both power banks:
- When I'm out and about for outings, evenings, and travel, and my primary devices are tablets and phones, I prefer the slimmer form factor and travel-friendly, built-in cables of the A1695.
- When I'm going from office to office and I know I have a stable desk to work on, I'll more likely be using a laptop, and have less concerns about bending the connectors on a plugged-in USB-C cable, then the A1289 makes more sense.
