I found this 3-star review by Rekha useful. Posting her comments below if you are buying:

Review on Amazon: Affordable Gimbal for Tripod based tracking. https://www.amazon.com/gp/custome...uage=en-US

1. Movement Performance: When the camera is moving (e.g., while walking) and the subject is also moving, the gimbal does not perform well. My videos were often jittery, making steady recording while walking a genuine challenge.

2. App Dependency & Resolution: Recording and tracking work exclusively through the Aochuan app. I was disappointed to find that the app did not offer a 4K video option for my Pixel 8 Pro.

3. Confusing "3-Axis" Claim: The technical specifications are a bit misleading. This gimbal features only two main rotating axis motors for stabilization. The third motor simply rotates the phone between landscape and portrait orientations. Other premium gimbals typically feature three actual stabilizing rotating motors, separate from the rotation motor.

I got one the other day, and I think it's a good entry point for someone like me who uses it casually. It has tracking, and it works with their app. The app has crashed a few times, but I think for the price, it's still pretty solid.
Edit: I have an iphone 17

Just got the step up to this (X-Pro) this weekend, currently using it on a cruise. Instructions were pretty basic but a few YouTube videos helped me out tremendously.
I'm very beginner but I think I got a hand of most of the modes now- People on the ship think I'm a professional videographer or some YouTube personality. You don't need to use the app for the simple modes, but way more fine tuning is available if use the app, such as adjusting the scroll speed.
Attached it to a cheap tripod and I get great balcony and astronomy shots on my phone.
The first one I ordered did come missing some parts 😅

Bought this a week ago at the same price. After playing with it, you get what you pay for. It's very entry level but seemed to work well enough. I did NOT like their app, but it seemed to work fine with the built in camera app on my Galaxy S24 Ultra. Most of the "features" are not there, but I just need something that works well enough to do steady, professional shots.

It's more than a toy, but not a power-user device, IMO. If you want to play around with it, you likely won't find better for the price.

For those whose order hasn't shipped, I would suggest you check out the AOCHUAN Smart V8 gimbal deal that was recently posted a few hours back. I posted a comment in that thread with the differences. The V8 is $3 cheaper, it's newer with an improved algorithm, it can handle heavier phones, and has a extension rod / selfie stick which can be tilted. In my opinion it's a better deal. https://slickdeals.net/f/19204924-aochuan-3-axis-gimbal-stabilizer-for-smartphones-w-7-8-extension-rod-iphone-android-27-99-free-shipping

This is a piece of garbage that doesn't hold up larger phones due to lack of power

Do you have experience with any other ones or would recommend one over this?
