Granted, the Apache 2800 does go on sale for $20 occasionally, but the Pelican is still much better quality. The Pelican has double-throw latches which makes latching easier and more sturdy (not that big of a deal).
The Pelican also has an automatic pressure relief valve, whereas the Apache has a manual pressure relief screw/plug. That's something you'll care about if you travel to places at different altitudes. I've had to force my Apache cases open, even after unscrewing the pressure relief screw after flying to a higher altitude city.

I've had them leak, latches are a pain, and best of luck flying with them. You'll be smashing or prying it open to get to your stuff since the valves are manual.
They're not bad cases, they just aren't as "professional" level as a pelican.

P.S. And no, it isn't "the same quality." I have both HF cases and Pelican's, there is a big step up (or down) in fit, finish, and QC. That being said, the HF cases are great for light use but won't survive a bunch of international flights or real world rough handling. When you travel, it is amazing to see some of the Pelican cases in the wild. They look like they've survived direct bombings yet are still functionally 100%.
I've never had a Harbor Freight case wear out. So if Pelican's do.... they are better? Perhaps, but saying that one wears out and can be replaced does not mean it is automatically better.
Don't get me wrong, HF cases are great, but hardly comparable in terms of ruggedness, water / air tightness, or protection....if your use case demands it. If there is a critical need for something to survive, saving $20-30 bucks might not be the wise choice*. Especially in terms of water, humidity, and pressure. IMO, those valves on the HF cases appear to be for show only. I've never had one of their cases seal shut (or even pop when opened) because of pressure changes. The seal just ain't that good. For most people, that probably won't matter though. Your consumer level DSLR doesn't care nor does the long discontinued Ruger P80/90 series used in the HF photo cry if it gets humid. (P.S. those are highly underrated guns
*Not to mention investing extra for a lifetime supply of new cases might pay for itself over time if you are really that rough with your stuff. Highly use case dependent though.
