We need a new deal site if there isn't one already. One that doesn't post the same coupon 1000 times.
There isn't much solid, well-designed research behind probiotics, either in humans or animals (and, most things sold as probiotics probably don't have the right mixture, assuming that would be more effective, which has yet to be demonstrated with gold-standard research designs).
But, if a vet has recommended it, is isn't likely to hurt the cat, either. And when a cat isn't eating, you need to try every option, because going without food for less than 2 days can cause serious problems (Mirataz administered transdermally on the inside of the ear, is another option.)
This product does have an expiration date. If you're using it for making food more appealing, it probably isn't a big deal. But if you're using it for the probiotics, the expiration date matters more.
The product is formulated differently for cats and dogs, so buy the appropriate product for the species you're giving it to!
