Agreed. And I'm glad they didn't try to find someone who sounds like Chester. That would've felt more like a tribute act or a cover band than a real continuation.

With the new singer, it's clearly a different sound, still in the same orbit, but its own thing. It won't hit for everyone, and that's okay. But I respect that they chose to move in slightly different direction creatively instead of trying to recreate something that can't (and shouldn't) be replicated.

Assuming you don't collect CDs, what are the benefits of this? Yes, you can rip these. But aren't there likely other higher quality sources out there? And if you just like collecting Linkin Park memorabilia, wouldn't vinyl be the preferred choice?
It looks like a great deal. But I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the impulse buy or not.

This album is great. It's not the old Linkin Park without Chester but if you like the genera the album slaps. At this price its a great deal if you have a CD player.

If you don't collect CDs, just buy the digital version. If you like pops and clicks and surface noise, get it on vinyl instead.

Maybe a DVD or BluRay player will hold you over until then.

pops and clicks? I don't hear that on my Fluance, but I suppose if someone doesn't keep their albums clean, then yeah.

Enjoying vinyl requires some very selective hearing and a willingness to pay extra for the privilege. The important thing is all those options are out there. Pick the one that works best for you.

Also get the record if you want your media to degrade every time it is played or you like decreased fidelity. Search for riaa equalization curve for more info. For the lazy ppl, certain frequencies are reduced on records to prevent playback issues. So what you hear is not what the artist wanted. Records are the snapchat photo filter of the music industry.

Don't slander county fairs. I saw ZED at San Diego County Fair and it was sick!
