This Ryzen 5 9600X and MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 240 bundle stands out as a strong value if you need an all in one cooler, with the cooler alone pegged around $60 and the CPU effectively near $140 for anyone already set on AM5 parts. The 9600X is described as a cool running chip with room to move up to higher end Ryzen later, and the bundle price compares well with recent local CPU pricing. The main cautions are MSI Coreliquid reliability concerns and reports that the promo code has expired, pushing checkout to $199 plus tax. A solid bundle when the code works and the cooler fits your build.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. The bundle is a solid value if you need the 240mm AIO, and the cooler alone is cited at about $60 on Amazon, which makes the CPU effectively around $140 for buyers who already have a motherboard and RAM.
A 7600X open-box price of $127 was cited as the best alternative, but this bundle was still preferred at $185 because it includes the AIO. It was also raised as a possible AM5 upgrade path from a 5800X, especially if you already have 32GB of DDR5.
The code appears to be expired. Checkout is reportedly showing $199 plus tax instead of the advertised $185 bundle price.
The MSI Coreliquid line has reported durability concerns, including multiple units dying and needing warranty replacements. That makes the cooler bundle less attractive if you are buying mainly for the AIO rather than the CPU.

#1. The voltage issue did not impact i5's, it was only the i7 and i9's. I had a 13600k for 2 years on a full-time 5.7ghz all-core OC, then I moved it to my wife's PC when I grabbed a 14900k on sale.
**I ran this with a 600w 4090 and it did not bottleneck on a 4k monitor (save 2-3 rare instances in specific games). I could have afforded a 13900k when I bought the i5, but there was no real benefit for gaming at 4k.
#2. The voltage issue has long been resolved: I got a 14900k for $350 directly after Intel released the final voltage fix, and I've been running it without power limits from day 1: not a single problem.
i5, i7, i9 are all the same chip. The i7 has 8 functional P cores, but they cannot hit i9 speeds - worst possible chip to OC. The i5 on the other hand only ended up with 6 functional P cores... but that doesn't mean they won't hit i9 speeds. The 13/14 gen i5 are insane overclockers - they are nerfed down to 5.1ghz to maintain product differentiation, but you can just install the Intel OC software (no bios required) and change the multiplier - no touching the power or voltage necessary, they will rip. Best value gaming chip in years.
Even if the 14600k and 9600x were the exact same price, ran the exact same ram speeds, had the exact same gaming and productivity performance... Intel has QuickSync. You might not be using it now, but if you ever do any transcoding, even if 6 years from now you retire the 14600k to a Jellyfin server - you will be so happy you have the Intel iGPU with QuickSync.
So yea, I recommend the 14600k lol
9600x if you want to bet on a chance to upgrade to Ryzen 9 10950X3D2 24cores 48 threads in the future.
I am personally using 9600x from the newegg Black Friday 2025 deal. 65W TDP is cool but most of the time CPU can use 105W. 105W is not hot, it's still cool.
just pointing out that the code SSF2958 appears to have expired, so my checkout is showing $199 plus tax.
