Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

What happens to Google voice once you port the number over? I wonder if you can then use that number to create Google accounts..
What happens it has been my experience that your GV account hangs around and can request another number the number you ported out can be connected to your google voice number. Its just cant be your google voice number unless you port it back in for 20 bucks.

I unlocked my Google Voice number for 3 bucks and ordered one. The precheck as well as the reservation went through with my google voice number
When does the GV charge you 3 bucks? I did the unblock but it didnt ask me for any credit card etc, I do have a google balance but in the history also there is no 3 dollar charge. I place an order with Metro and it went through. Just litle fuzzy as to why the $3 was not charged yet by GV

My GV account now only has delete option, doesnt give me lock/unlock? unless it charged my google pay on file.

Goole charges you the 3 bucks after you press the UNLOCK button not the "unblock" button...if that wasn't a typo. I have done idk 4 maybe 5 GV port outs each time I was chaged 3 bucks. At this junction I would just say that the google took pity on you and bless you with not charging you 3 buck...although that is exremley unlikley. This is the verbage when you press the unlock button " does this statement apply to you "If your number was ported into Voice from another service provider, you won't be charged for unlocking the number" if so there is your answer. If now you only have the option to delete that number is unlocked. Check your gmail that is attached to GV maybe that will give you some insite

UnlockUnlock XXX-XXX-XXXX‬ with Google Voice?
Your Voice number is locked to prevent someone else from taking it. To port this number to another service provider, unlock it before starting the porting process with your new provider.
The cost for unlocking your number is a one-time fee of $3.00 USD paid through Google Pay. If your number was ported into Voice from another service provider, you won't be charged for unlocking the number. Learn more

Old model about to go out of apple support? From some comments on here looks like it takes a year to unlock?

You got any idea how GV number works when you try to activate the phone? Is it like any other phone service? Just enter my unlocked GV number when I activate the 13 or so I need to call some service help desk to help me with the activation ?
I have done it in the past and you don't need anything to do. just normal activation but it took me almost 1 month to port in.

Ok thanks and good point. Which carriers the Metro phone can work with in 1 year period before it will fully carrier unlock?

In my experience MVNO SIMs work in carrier phones like cricket into AT&T but AT&T SIMs won't work in MVNO SIMs like a cricket branded phone.

Maybe that isn't true anymore but it was 10 years ago.
So metro phone should work with T-mobile even during the one year period before the phone would unlock fully? correct?

Do not delete your number. Your port is not complete and you will likely have to call Metro to complete it. Tell them you ported a land line and they should fix things.

By the time people receive their phones, that trade in value will expire. This thread is being hyped up for no reason. Good phone to just keep in drawer, but no potential for flipping for profit and things like that.

I ordered through LycaMobile yesterday. It went smoothly and Metro took a few minutes to process the account and pin though. I have not received the phone so I cannot provide any evidence on whether it will activate successfully.
i paid the $5.25 and got email with a sim number

then how to proceed after that?
