Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Not sure how I got the first one -- number couldn't be ported but I kept trying. Used all lowercase name and random debit card and it went through. Just got it today and tried to buy a second one, but it doesn't let me for security reasons. I am now stuck with number can't be ported.. will just wait and try again in a few days.

Ugh. First line went through without a hitch. Activated last night no problem. Tried to add a second line today and got that stupid "call us" message. Chat agent couldn't help. Called in and they couldn't help. They claim they're getting a "port limit request reached" error. Google support says they see the request to port out, "just wait 48 hours". Not sure how that's going to work when the damn Metro order won't go through.
Exact same boat. Just curious, have you call them to complete the transfer for GV number before adding the 2nd line? I did that just now. Gonna try again later tonight with different name and cc see if it work.

don't waste your time with the online chat customer support if you get the "Contact us to complete the order" message. They will run into the same payment issue and have no clues how to fix the issue. I am not sure if calling helps but definitely avoiding online chat.

Does anyone know what zip code to use while putting GV number as port in number? Also does the GV number have to be UNLOCKED before ordering? Or can the unlock be done later? Thanks.

Zip Code: Some people got success with 00000, some with google head quarter's zipcode, some their own zip code. I think zip code really does not matter.

Yes, you have to pay $3 to unlock first and have to transfer the line within 30 days else it will be locked again for security reason.

It's normally needed 2nd time you request a new after you port out initial one or deactivated for non use.

Do Metro phones need to have 12 months of continuous paid service to unlock? Their policy only states that the device will unlock "Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date", but say nothing about the device having to be active on their plan for the entire duration of the year. Also, could I just activate it on metro and pay that first month, and then take it over to Mint (same parent company/network, T-Mobile)?
When you order a phone from Metro, you prepay for the first month of service. Paying that first month is enough to activate the device.
For unlocking, Metro's policy states that the device will automatically unlock once 365 days have passed from the original activation date. The policy does not require 12 months of continuous paid service — it is based on the activation date, not on maintaining active service for the entire year.
However, during those 365 days, the phone will remain locked to Metro. That means you cannot use it on Mint, T-Mobile, or any other carrier (even though they operate on the same T-Mobile network) until the device is officially unlocked after the one-year period.

I was asked to provide ID for one of my Gmail accounts, so I used a different Gmail account instead.

Thank you. Appreciate the reply.
So does the Google Voice number need to be UNLOCKED before placing the order with Metro? Or can one unlock the number later after the order is placed and maybe unlock it before activation?
