Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Thanks to everyone in the thread! I activated with a google voice number without issue today. Is it safe to delete the google voice number, generate a new one, and order again? I imagine all I need to do is not renew the service on metro's website (turn off auto-renew)?
DO NOT DELETE your GV number. Let it go away on its own which it should after port is fully complete. Deleting can cause issues when port is not fully done. GV is considered a landline, so porting is more complex and takes longer. Just give it time.

It won't let me add another line for $30 online; I then called Metro by Tmobile and the customer service rep also indicated it would be a new line for $55 for me to get the iPhone 13 for $0 but $55 for first month plan; cannot add a second line. Anyone with better luck and suggestions? TIA

Was your StraightTalk phone activated before 2/11/26? Verizon changed their policy on that date and their phones (ST, TW, TF, etc) activated on/after that date needs 365 days of service to be unlocked. If your phone was activated before that date, it should be unlocked 60 days after activation, even if deactivated.
One "nice" thing about getting your number deactivated by ST but not ported-in to Metro, your phone line will become a "zombie". It won't be shown in ST system as active, but it will continue to work for calls/texts/data long after its original expiration date. I have two phones like that, they should have expired in December but they're still working to this day.
Wow. you're very knowledgeable. My activation was before the new rule. Very glad to hear the good news.
Do you know how to solve the issue of Metro order not go thru? Thank you. I did call ST to "correct" the deactivation Frown haha...

Man, they got me. I can't order a 2nd iPhone 13 on my 2nd account now . "Please call us, blah, blah!$ lol
same for me too (used a separate GV account from my original - thanks everyone). Maybe I'll just try tomorrow. Is it just issues with their site? Not sure if there has been a consensus.

I understand you have to activate the 1st phone but when you order the 2nd phone can you leave it in box sealed and sell it to someone on eBay to use on Metro?

Sorry, I don't know how to correct the problem with Metro not going through. It happens so randomly, there are no patterns of what to do/avoid. BTW, the Unlocking Policy for TF/ST/TW was changed on 1/20/26. The 2/11/26 date was when they made changes to their web site/app and broke many functions.

Interesting! "zombie" number is a real fun when you try to port out from Straight talk, they immediately kick out your number from their system, regardless success/failur of Metro port in. As metro is not pulling that number due to their own glitch/failed process so it will remain active for infinity time unless Straight Talk did their system cleanup to kill such zombies Smilie.

Yep. One never knows when/if ST/TW/TF will clean up their system and actually remove the zombie line. I have one zombie line from ST and one from TF. For now, I keep one phone in my car to use its Data while away from WiFi. I use the other one at home to make long calls to avoid using up minutes of my main TF line.

I had a question regarding Google Voice - Do I first have to unlock the GV number by paying the $3, before placing the order on Metro. Or can the GV unlock happen after placing the Metro order. Thank you all.

I have a zombie line working for more than a year, still working. Never able to produce a second one. Service always stopped the day after original expiration day.
